Pasolini's Accatone (VHS)
Similar to the Italian Neorealist classics of the 50's, Pasolini's ACCATONE uses non-professional actors, real locations, basic filming techniques, and "proletariat" themes, to express his social and philosophical concerns. Not as abstract or "graphic" as his later films (Gospel of St. Matthew, Teorama, Salo, etc), this debut film uses a simple plot and direct narrative to relate the director's ideas of survival and redemption. I bought this particular version of the film because it it one of the few of Pasolini's lesser known films that is available with legible, accurate ENGLISH SUBTITLES.
