About a Boy (DVD, 2003, Widescreen)

I love Toni Collette... she is hilarious- she does loony quite well. The fact that Hugh Grant is a jerk really seems to resonate well with who he is in real life ;0)

It has a lot of unexpected comedy, made by the guys who made American Pie- but a different style obviously.

I was buying videos and I thought I'd like it, is why I bought it. I haven't watched it yet, but am sure I will like it.

Bought this movie because Hugh Grant stars in it. I enjoy most Hugh Grant movies. This one is Ok. Hugh wants to meet women, makes up he is single dad so he can attend single parents club so he can meet single moms. Gets caught up in his lie and eventually found out. By this time one of the single moms has a son that attaches himself to Hugh. At first Hugh is annoyed by the boy but then everything works out in the end. Some humor worth watching.

I love Hugh Grant movies. I was glad with the condition of this dvd. Clean box. I have received used dvds. But, this one was much better in condition, quality, and performance of dvd.

About a Boy is a great movie for families with older children. Although some of the adult themes aren't appropriate for younger children, older middle school kids and high school kids will love watching this with their parents. Hugh Grant plays Will, a man who preys on single women. While attempting to conquer another, he meets a boy names Marcus. Marcus is desperately trying to find a way to keep his depressed mother happy in an effort to keep her from committing suicide. (Despite this aspect, the movie really is uplifting.) Although Will isn't really interested in dating Marcus's mother, the two of them become friends.

The best scene in the film is one we can all relate to, in which Marcus sings "Killing Me Softly" at a talent show in an effort to make her happy. He is nearly laughed off stage until Will steps in to save the day.

A cute movie that is often overlooked. Don't miss this one!

Very good movie, really good story plot. Great for children and adults. I would recommend this for family night or just a nice relaxing weekend movie.

Maybe it's just not my type of humor, but reading reviews about the movie saying it was funny i thought it would be a good movie to watch. It is a movie full of narration and it just never caught my attention.

This is my 18 year old granddaughter's favorite movie and has been for a long time. She wanted to have her own copy, so I purchased it for her this Christmas. She was thrilled.

Not just simply a feel good movie with ol'Hugh, but also a great movie to learn how to live the life of a bachelor :-) and with style....

I am a Hugh Grant fan and think he is great in this film as the quintessential playboy who gets his life turned around for the better. Obviously nothing new here, but the fresh and entertaining performances from the talented cast make for a nice film that is funny and heart warming.

This is a great movie, very funny. If you like Hugh Grant, you will love this movie as we did. My husband and I both thought it was a very good movie and we would watch it again.
