Reviews 2 of 2 people found this review helpful. As usual, Michael Franks is the ultimate wordsmith, with his lyrics inviting contemplation and reflection. The music is instrument-rich with horns, flutes, saxaphone, great guitar work, and more. Of interest is "In the Yellow House" from the musical "Noa, Noa." A conversation between Paul Gauguin and Vincent Van Gogh, this duet is sung by Franks and Brian Mitchell. Jazz aficionados will love this cd as well as anyone wanting relaxing meaningful music. Especially good are "Without Your Love" and "Abandoned Garden." The latter speaks of the loss of Franks' friend, Antonio Carlos Jobim, who is memoralized in the liner notes. The music is entirely dreamy and contemplative. A good buy. Review ID: 10000000002084699 Was this review helpful? Report this review |
