ATL: The BEST movie of 2005

This movie is GREAT! Let me start by saying that, if your a fan of urban coming of age stories this is one of the BEST.
It mainly focuses on two characters, 17 year old Rashad (Tip Harris aka T.I.) and his younger brother Ant (Evan Ross) living in a South Atlanta neighborhood mildly supervised by their Uncle Gorge (Mykelti Williamson). Rashad, forced to become the man of the house after the death of their parents, carries the responsibility of his future along with Ant squarely on his shoulders. Its an up hill battle focusing on school, working for uncle Gorge and keeping Ant from falling under the wing of Marcus (Antwan Patton aka Big Boi from Outkast) the local big ballin Drug Dealer.
As talented as Rashad is, it seems he feels there's not much hope for him and the only thing making him smile is NEW NEW (Lauren London). She's something special to him, someone who sees more to him, but everyone gots secrets and NEW NEW's no exception.
Rashad does have his friends to relay on, starting with Esquire (Jackie Long) whose ambition can almost show as selfish as he does whatever he needs to do to get to where he's going, including deceiving the people closest to him, mainly Rashad, but everything you do in the dark comes out in the light? NEW NEW can tell him that.
Moving along he does have a few other boys he can depend on, especially if they really trying to win Skate Wars, but that's something you'd have to see to understand.
Overall I really just enjoy watching all these characters interact and I love the chemistry between Rashad and NEW NEW. This movie overall shows you truth of this part of ATL but makes you walk away with understanding of their struggle not fear of it and I like that alot. If you haven't seen it, Buy it soon!
