AT&T 984 Corded Phone

This phone is excellent for small businesses or home office use. If provides the user with all the luxuries of a huge phone system without the price. It is easy to use, easy to navigate, and makes the office look like we spent major bucks on a phone system. With the phone, the user is provided with multiple lines, separate mailboxes, optional music on hold, headset use, DND, mute, conference calls, caller ID, speaker phone, and so much more. This is a great phone!

We have an office full of the earlier model 964. Over years of service, two of them developed problems with the Automated Attendant outgoing message recording. The AT&T 984 is the latest compatible phone in this discontinued series. Overall, we are satisfied with the features and performance of this system and so chose not to upgrade all of the phones in the office.

I like this system because it is not expensive to purchase and maintain. It is reliable. Our receptionist likes the headset provisions.

We do not like that when someone is on a call, a second call can not be transferred to their voice mail. We have learned to work around this by either manually taking a message or, if it is a common unsolicited sales call, simply transferring them to any voice mail box.

The replacement series that is not compatible with what we have probably addresses this deficiency.
