The 2.4 GHz Dual Core Opetron 2216 Processor from Dell is designed to enhance the performance and the speed of your server. The Dual Core Opteron processor enables simultaneous 32- and 64-bit computing and features Direct Connect Architecture. The processor is designed to run existing 32-bit applications with outstanding performance and offers customers a simplified migration path to 64-bit computing. The Integrated DDR Memory Controller increases application performance by dramatically reducing memory latency. It also incorporates HyperTransport Technology to provide up to 24.0 GB/s peak bandwidth per processor, which reduces I/O bottlenecks. It has been tested and validated for your Dell PowerEdge 2970 Server.
