You Can Teach Yourself How To Use A Serger
6 of 6 people found this review helpful.
I taught myself how to use my serger using both this book and the owner's manual that came with my serger. I found this book to be very helpful. It has lots of diagrams that clearly illustrate the instructions given. Also the book goes into more detail than my owner's manual did.
Some of the topics covered: stitch types, tension and tension adjustments, threading, flatlocking, narrow rolled edges, and much much more.
I think this book will be helpful to you if you own a serger from around the time period this book was written (lots of them pop up for sale on eBay.) I am not sure how much serger technology has advanced since this book was printed, so if you have the very latest model with all the bells and whistles you'll probably be better off with a more updated book. But, this book covers all the basics for using a basic serger. I found it to be clearly written and straightforward.
