ABCs of Serging by Lori Bottom, Tammy Young (1992, Paperback)

The book gives the basics just a good quality book for beginners. I would recommend for a gift. Also provides a beginners list of supplies so, that you will not buy to many to start your serger projects.

I like the book because it explains easy way. I needed some knowledge in using sergers I have and that is why I bought this book.

I bought a new serger. It is still sitting on the shelf, being intimidating. I am reading this book, and it is showing me the serger is not as scary as it looks and it is showing me, step by step. I have been sewing for over 40 years, but a serger is a completely different "animal". This book is valuable in the pictures and descriptions. I compare the pictures of the book to serger and am learning all about it. The manual that came with the serger is very difficult to understand or read. It is printed in tiny print and black and white with very little explanation. The ABC's of Serging is very helpful and descriptive taking away the difficulty of the machine. It is writtten in a way to understand with larger print. It also says in the beginning that although the machine can be intimidating, not to worry. I trust the book is right. I like it. I know it will teach me how to begin, and then I will be off sewing everything. I have projects lined up, just waiting to be done with that serger. This book should be an excellent reference book for me.
