A Guide Book of United States Coins by R.S. Yeoman (2009, Paperback)

As a resource book the redbook is still the best out there. However as a pricing book leaves much to be desired. Generally, the prices of coins (non-precious metal) are overinflated, but more important, in todays maket, where silver and gold prices can change daily, it is a dinosaur.

Coin prices, like valuable metal or stock prices, are changing faster and faster. This trends is not new; volatility in the coin markets has been on the rise since the late 1970s. Each year, that volatility increases, especially when inflation hits or trouble strikes the blue chips. So while this book acts as good overall guide... its just that, a guide. It's not at all the up-to-date, credible source it once was. The same goes for the wholesale coin price version of The Official Red Book, its pricing nemesis, The Official Blue Book. It's time to have on online, weekly or daily updated version of these, similar to PCGS's price guide.

If the currency was printed or minted you'll find it in this book. The book has it all. Very easy to use and full of some surprising paper currency and coin values. This is a must have for those who have interest in this and informative to others I'm sure.

I really enjoy my book. It has helped me in what coins to buy. The price was really reasonable and the book is brand new. Before I was using the blue book (which is a good book), but the red book is much better. It is alot eaiser to use because of the wire binding and color photos. Thank you.

Great book for a coin collector. Son wanted one, so we bought two of them. It is a very good resource for valuing old coins and researching histories of the old coins.

I like the book it helps me keep track of the value of my collection. It is so informative about of all types of American coins. The silver coin section is the area that interests me the most.

This is the best most comprehensive book on us coins today. The color pictures and descriptions are make coin detection and grading easy even for a beginner. The description tells you who designed the coin and the compision of the coin. For example on gold and silver coins It tells you how many grams of gold and silver are actually in the coin as well as other alloys, gives acurate measurements of the coin and as I said before a color picture. This book is a excellent value for the money.
