A Garden of Quilts by Mary Elizabeth Johnson (1984, Hardcover)

This book has some interesting pictures and information about the quilts pictured. There are drawings and instructions for most of them, with templates to trace. No rotary or quick piecing instructions, and the designs are heavy on applique.
I bought it for the title and because I wanted to make the Carolina Lily using stack-n-whack. I don't like it because the quilts are vintage designs with antiquated settings. For example, some blocks are designed on point, but the setting isn't, so they look sideways.
If you like the vintage look and instructions, you'll like this; if you're more modern, buy something else.
