The guitar work is a lot more than just power chords, but harder than the typical Gin Blossoms/Deep Blue Something arpeggios of power pop in the mid-90's. Great tunes. They weave an eclectic blend of sounds and still manage to sound exciting and fresh. Purchase this CD even if it's just for "Name." Well worth the $$$ Review ID: 10000000006489703 Was this review helpful? Report this review First, it has the song "NAME" on it... I love the way they sound, they never really changed their sound like most groups do. They just have a unique sound. I also like the fact that they write 99% of their songs...(almost 100%). Every now and then they do someone elses song, but they ALWAYS do a GREAT job... At my age, I know the original songs, but I love the way they do it!!! I am 39, and have seen them in concert...you will not be disappointed!! This is my second time buying this cd, due to now my kids, ages 15, and 16 love them too....they ROCK, and they can do ballads!!! Review ID: 10000000003969514 Was this review helpful? The CD is not one of the better ones by the Goo Goo Dolls, but its listening quality is excellent. Review ID: 10000000003924839 Was this review helpful? Report this review The hit single in this album "NAME" brings back a lot of memories about 1995 my sophmore year in college. The Goo Goo Dolls were always considered to be a hard rock/pop metal band(Signed to Metal Blade Records at first). This breakthrough album sent teh boys from Buffalo to new heights of fame and wealth, and it is well deserved. For many years as early as the late 80's I rememeber the dolls making records that were good but never got the recognition deserved. IN this one they did on a scale of 1-10 I give this album an 8. It was about time the Dolls got the recognition they deserved. Review ID: 10000000003748577 Was this review helpful? Report this review Review created: 12/06/06 by: Has alot of good songs on it. When released, Wal-Mart refused to carry because the album cover had a Boy covered in Blackberry Goo! ( A boy named goo!) Wal-Mart claimed it looked like a neglected boy--covered in blood. Somebody over there needs Glasses! And the hits just keep on coming! Thanks Goo! 5 Stars Review ID: 10000000001614257 Was this review helpful?
