Guitar Hero: Aerosmith (Wii, 2008)

Guitar Hero 3: Aerosmith is the first expansion game for the Guitar Hero 3 franchise for the Nintendo Wii. It was released June 29th, 2008 by Activision.

The game follows the same principle as Guitar Hero 3. The only difference is that you are playing basically as Aerosmith! You start off by watching a neat cartoon video showing the life story of Aerosmith. As you play the game you get to watch neat video's before each stage that show members of Aerosmith talk about the significance of the stage that you are about to play!

Each "gig" or section starts off with you playing two songs that Aerosmith selected from each time frame. The two songs are from celebrated artists that the band has either performed with or has been inspired by in some way.

You also get to play venues from historical moments during the band's illustrious career offer the experience of "sweet emotion" and further capture the essence of the band’s rise to fame. So you get to play Kansas City's in New York, and the high school where Aerosmith first played!

The cartoon characterization of Aerosmith is done well on the Wii. Tyler actually looks good! LoL. :)

Song Selection:

A great selection from the entire Aerosmith library. Awesome tracks!

Graphics:

Very similar to Guitar Hero 3 for Wii. Nothing really new. If it ain't broke, don't fix it. ;)

Complaints:

The only complaint is the number of "covers" of the favorite songs before you get to play the Aerosmith songs.

Overall:

As an Aerosmith fan I give this a 5/5!

It had a lot of "B" side tracks. It did not have the Aerosmith bang I was hoping for. I have always been a big fan of theirs, but this game really tried to shove the not so good and the new stuff that I had never heard of down your throat.

Great for any aerosmith fan. I love how it tells the story of aerosmith's rise to stardom with special interviews with members of aerosmith. Great songs from aerosmith and some of their favorites from other artists.

the game rock just like all of the other guitar hero's but if you don't want to waste your time going through career mode to get all the songs, just go to options, cheats, and then punch this fret combination in to unlock all songs

If you like Guitar Hero, this game is good. It gives you a lot more songs to choose from. But, they really did a bad job picking Aerosmith songs to be on it. They could have picked a lot more classic songs to jam out on. I do like a few of the other groups/artists songs that were included, but I was hoping this was more of an Aerosmith "Best of" game. Otherwise, plays fine for my taste.

Game has a lot of Aerosmith's early music and the interviews on game are kind of cool.Really enjoyed playing it...

Great lot of songs - Not all Aerosmith. A little dissappointed that many are very early - almost unknown titles - but all in all it does provide a variety + some additional artists. Good buy for the right price.

If you've played Guitar Hero before, this is an okay add on, but save your money and buy it used. That's what eBay is for!!!! Nothing spectacular, and some of the song choices are lousy...lots of great Aerosmith left out.... I suppose they'll want to do an Aerosmith II ????

The game is fun as all guitar heros, but the choice of musics is very bad. If you are not a extreme fan, you will find just about 3 or 4 musics that you know and like.

I wouldn't buy if I knew the music selection was that.

i bought the aerosmith (wii) for my grand son the only problem is i didint know that for each game you have to have a specific gituar i wish they would include this info would make it alot easier to know what your buying and to buy the right product

Needs more Aerosmith songs, but still has a great library. Greatest band ever and all. Love the intro!

if you are interested in playing songs that you haven't already played on legends of rock or world tour, get this game. but don't pay more than 20 bucks for it.

Got the game for my 8 and 11 year-old boys. I love the music, they love the game. Doesn't get better than that.

Love Aerosmith, glad they weren't the only music you play to. The tech is from part three so it's just like guitar hero home. the battle against Joe Perry makes the the game worth the scratch for hours of enjoyment. Must have for the guitar hero collector.

I read the reviews before buying this game, so I was prepared for a poor song list. The game play is similar to Guitar Hero III, however about 1/2 the songs are Aerosmith. I was able to sit down and play through the entire game in just a few hours. It was fun, but not very challenging. The biggest let down is the song list. They are missing so many great Aerosmith songs, and they included too many obscure songs. I am definitely glad I got the game on sale, and would recommend waiting for a sale before buying this game.

Another great Guitar Hero game. Tons of Aerosmith songs, and plenty of other songs from other bands. If you like Guitar Hero III for the WII then you will love this game as well.

Great addition to the Guitar Hero family. Great set list. Awesome Game. Only downside is its a little short.

Good cost retails around $90.00 but I only paid under $35.00. Saving for Christmas so thats all I can tell you at this ppoint. I received this on 11/5.

I love his music and now I can enjoy playing it as well as hearing it. I will also enjoy sharing this with my friends and family, because they also love aerosmith

great graphics and lots of old and newer songs. some songs weren't included was a bit of a disapointment. and it is a bit short but with diffrent levels of difficuty it can last forever.

I love love all of the Aerosmith songs, but am a bit disappointed with the other song on the game. Also, I don't like that I have to play every sing song in order to advance to the next set of songs.
