Major League Baseball 2K7 (Xbox 360, 2007)

Well it's getting better. Baseball games just are not to date with Football games. This years version is better than last years by far. If you like baseball then this is a great game for you....

I've been waiting a long time for a baseball game that was actually worth playing. MLB2k6 had it's issues, and the graphics were by no means spectacular in anyway. MLB2k7 has taken a lot of the issues from 2k6 and improved them, along with really polishing up the graphics, rather than trying to redesign the game from the ground up. Well done 2k sports :)

Pros: Graphics are very detailed, for example the uniforms vary from tight to loose. A loose uniform moves in the wind. Most players look almost exactly like they do in real life.
Real rosters can be downloaded for free online. Online play has very few glitches.
The whole pitching aspect in the game will not disappoint. I think the pitching aspect is the most creative yet in a baseball game. Fielding is not as frustrating as 2K6 and some plays will leave your mouth open in astonishment.

Cons: There is no moving up through A to AA to AAA then finally to the Mlb. I was disappointed with that, because baseball is all about patience and improving. Plus, I enjoy drafting players and seeing their development over the years.
Homeruns seem to get robbed by the computer a lot. They also seem to just make it over the fence. I don't know if it is even possible to knock it out of the park? When the ball is hit well it's only 10 to 20 ft away from the fence.
When batting it seems that it is easier to hit a home run than any other successful type of hit.
Overall: The game is just fun. Online play is great especially if you have friends that challenge you. The game is not perfect and 2K still has improvements to make. They did a good job with graphics and gameplay, it's the extras they need to improve/add (minor leagues, selling merchandise, stadium improvements, create a team, etc.).

I dont know about the others complaints. This game is perfect in every aspect. Once you get the hang of it like in any other game you can adjust the sliders to your preferences. The graphics are great as is the game play.

This is next gen baseball. The graphics are so good and a huge step from the PS2 (I didn't play MLB 2K6 last year). The pitching is so awesome. It's just amazing how much more fun it is now to pitch. Yes, there's a little bit of unrealism (10 strikeouts a game are commonplace), but it doesn't take away from the cool pitching mode. Hitting is a little hit and miss. I can't tell balls and strikes, and I rely on luck to hit, but maybe it'll get better as I learn the game more. The games are so amazingly real that there are moments of tension, just like in real baseball. 9th inning, 2 outs, bases loaded and down by 2 type of stuff. There are some fielding issues, but the players look so real, and the signature style are really true to the real players. It's too good to pass.

Being an avid fan of real baseball, I reviewed and read up on a couple different baseball games to find the best. I picked 2K7's baseball game because I had read that it was ultra-realistic and the game play was great. Let me personally tell you that that statement is 100% fact.

This game has some of the most realistic graphics you have ever seen in a sports game. From the whiskers on there beard to there actual tounge and teeth, it delivers. I have an HD television and holy crap, amazing.

The gameplay is as expected, a TAD repetitive at times but if you play it ALL the time like I do you come to terms with it. :)

The announcing is top notch, again, repetitive, but usually you always hear something you've never heard before.

The computer AI is God-like on defense but, just hit 'em where they ain't.


In conslusion, this is possibly one of top 5 sports game of all time. It has everythin a baseball, er a sports fan wants in a game. 9.98/10

I really didn't enjoy this game. I didn't like the swing stick (new version of hitting) because it's really hard to master. If you can not get the swing stick down then you can't win one game and that's not fun. Football games are better. Go buy one of them. They are much better.

Game has some of the best graphics i have ever played with a baseball game. however, it has way to many flaws in its game play. I owned the game for about 2 weeks and got bored of the bad game play. If you are looking for a great baseball game with great graphics and dont care about the game play, than this would be you game.

I would like to write an opinion about this product but I never received this item. The seller did not send my item after I made a payment to pay pal. I would like to write a review but my son, that I purchased this item for his birthday never received it.... I am very dissapointed and so is he.......

Fun baseball game that can be as deep or shallow as you want to play it.

Some of the animations look a little funny and the new pitching/batting interface takes some getting used to, but overall a good experience.

Im being generous giving it a four. Its the only baseball game on the 360 so if you want MLB your stuck with it. Now that being said its not a bad game, infact its pretty good. But you wont last the 162 games. The game is ridiculsly easy. Even on higher dificulty levels (which become way to hard, not middle ground) it does not matter cause on any level its homerun after homerun, or the cpu robs your homerun every other play, but dont worry you'll a homerun right after that repeat the cycle. If you can play with the sliders enough to make the game perfect for you it can be much more fun. Id reccomend getting it cheaper, like on Ebay, and not getting it full price.

When I rented this game I thought it was gunna suck but I gave it a try and I couldn't stop playing it, its AMAZING! Franchise Mode is the best, I mean you actually have to work hard to get a Contract extension and everything, I mean this game is simply amazing.

Gameplay? Oh you bet its something, yeah I do say that the Batting control must be better but whatever I love this game.

This game I just love. Own it for the Xbox. Played it all the time. Now that I got the 360, I can start all over again.

I bought this game because I had played 2k5 and loved it for it's simulation and thought that this one "2k7" would be the same. At first I found the game pretty hard to control especially with the "swing stick", the swing stick is when you use the right stick to bat, you can always use the old hitting button which is the a button.It took some time to get use to this swing stick but after you get the hang of it you finally have all the control. Then comes pitching at first I assumed I was doing it correctly but untill lately I found out that I wasn't which is to pick the pitch your going to trow then pick the location now comes the good part hold the pitch button and a circle will appear how great you hold on to the button will determend how much juice your pitcher will put on the pitch, now the circle will began to close you have to hit the pitching button again right before it closes timed right will cause more accurate pitches. All and all this game is very entertaining and it's graphics look good, if you can just get use to playing it, it will be a blast for anyone!

EVERYTHING ABOUT THIS GAME IS AWSOME. THE GRAPHICS, THE STANCES AND EVEN ALL THE STADIUMS LOOK AS REAL AS THEY DO IN REAL LIFE. SOME PEOPLE HAVE A PROBLEM ADJUSTING TO THE SWINGSTICK IF THAT IS THE CASE SWITCH TO CLASSIC STYLE IN THE GAME MENUS THEN IT BECOMES JUST LIKE THE OLDER GAMES. ALTHOUGH THE SWING STICK IS WHAT MAKES THIS GAME UNIQUE.

I own MLB 2K6 and don't like the awkward player motions (infielder throws, double plays, swings, etc.). 2K7's player motions are 5x more realistic and better. The graphics are also better. They've re-done some batting stances that weren't good on 2K6. The only thing that I don't like is that the outfielders frequently make some insane running, over-the-shoulder catches and HR robs. But bottom line is that even if you didn't like 2K6, you'll like 2K7.

It's not a perfect game but is easy one of the better baseball game realease in the last years. Graphics are excellent and the gameplay is easy to follow.

One great thing about this game is the graphics. It is crisp, clear, and beautiful. Gameplay is very close to completely realistic.
The only bad thing is that when you are trying to make a great catch in the outfield, the frame rate seems to be less (the game kind of slows down a bit).
Overall, if you are a baseball, or even just a sports, fan, this is a must-buy.

Best baseball game I've ever played, and I was an addict to the MLB PS2 series. Better control, better fielding, better everything. Only complaint is the batting sucks unless you switch to standard mode, in franchise mode the computer will trade everyone's big name players without you knowing (Mine had Tori Hunter playing for the Mets by the 1st Allstar break), and way to easy to rob homers.

If you enjoy creating players and running a franchise then you will really enjoy this game. The graphics are fantastic in Hi-def and the players look great.

The best part we enjoy about this game is that we you create your player and place him on your team the anouncers talk about your player as if he has been on the team for years. It is truly awesome.

This game is a must buy for any baseball lover.

the graphics are amazing. just loooking at derek jeter makes you more excited to play this. The replays have even better graphics. when they show them it looks like they have a camera in the dirt and it looks like the real thing. Fielding and baserunning are the only flaws. sometimes when it comes right to you the guy misses it for no reason. But for the computer they will make amazing catches with horrible people. Baserunning is hard, and annoying to control. Batting and pitching is a lot of fun. rent it an see if you like it...
