The Cherokee Kid (DVD, 2005)

The story line is about as complicated as any cheesy spaghetti western. However, they spoof it out to immense proportions. Sinbad starts as a lovable and clueless but altruistic kid seeking revenge for the death of his mother. During his search for his monther's murderer he learns about survival, bank robbery, love, friendship, loyalty, gun fighting, and finding yourself.

James Coburn plays a believable villain bent on dominating the west and solidifying his railroad power.

Burt Reynolds plays a likable and hilarious mountain man.

Ernie Hudson plays a fearless gunfighter.

You will laugh! Though you must realize that this movie must be taken at face value. The story line gives you exactly what you would expect and nothing more. But it is a hilarious way to spend an hour and half.

This was a lot better than I expected. I am a very big fan of Sinbad's humor. I didn't remember this in theaters, I believe it was an HBO movie only. What a delight! The storyline revolves around Isaiah (Sinbad)trying to gain revenge for the murder of his brother from the greedy land-grabber, Bloomington (James Coburn). This had some pretty good writing along with your standard sight gag comedy. Included are some wonderful performances from Burt Reynolds, James Corburn, and Gregory Hines. A real nice find.

This is a comedy/western movie. I usually dont like westerns but this one had so much comedy in it, it was really great. There are some really funny parts, a couple shoot outs, and some funny times watching Sinbads character try to ride a horse. Some slow moments in the movie but most of it was pretty fast moving with a good story line to it. Love the ending of it!

This is an old HBO movie the stars Sinbad, not an Oscar winner, but a must add to any collection. Western/Comedy/Drama.

I liked this movie and thought it was pretty funny. Good clean fun humor without too much swearing. Sinbad is hilarious and I would recommend this movie to others.

Sinbad is at his best in this movie. He keeps the narrative clean with innocent comedy. I was especially surprise at all the big names that played supporting roles in this movie. Gregory Hines, Burt Reynolds, James Coburn, to name a few. Good storyline and clean comedy. I think that this movie is one of his best.
