East River Drive by Stanley Clarke (CD, Aug-1993, Epic USA)

I like Stanley Clarkes music.Have been a fan for years.The greatest bass player of history.Will continue to order more of his music that I did not get to purchase over years of time.Great bass player!

I previously bought Stanley Clarke "At the Movies" for Deja's Theme and Lisa tracks, after listening to them on Smooth Jazz radio. Was looking for the title track of "East River Drive" for same reason. The whole album is good with a variety of tunes and rythmes. I was surprised to actually like all the songs with the exception of "I'm Home Africa", with its repetitive lyrics. The beat of the song is catchy, though and I can tolerate it if I'm not at the player controls to skip it.

Stanley Clarke's East River Drive has been out for some time now. I originally purchased it years ago as a cassette, and later lost it. But the music was so punctuated and memorable, I had to have it back in my collection as a CD. Every song resonates some of the deep feelings each of us has over the course of our lives. ~ A "must-have" for serious jazz lovers!
