I love the fact that we can stream bu ray movies from the net or netflix. It has made even our low quality dvds play better. It looks as though we are in the movie. The only downside is that the eject button is on the actual player and not the remote, so we have to get up to open it and sometimes we may bump the button during the day since it is on the outside corner, the player will open. Other then that, its perfect. I bought this as a christmas gift for my husband because he wanted a blu ray so much. I wanted this particular one because we already had a netflix account and we actually use it more now than before.

I liked this model for the ability to stream movies from netflix and my computer through it. It is also very easy to use, along with a high quality player as Sony is the inventor of blu Ray technology.

The n460 a nice blue ray player, Comes with the option of direct conect with Netflix & Amazon, Although it requires a direct either net conection, or you will have to by wet610n wireless bridge to use the blu ray wireless. Around 100.00 You can sync this with your sony flat screen to combine remotes although it seams you still need both remotes becuse lack of functions on both? I rate it a good unit, but think sony droped the ball with no wireless built in, and you still need both remotes. Having said this you could buy a cheaper blu-ray and a rouke box and still have the same functions with about 2/3 the cost. upon set up you must register units a little complicated, I must say sony has AAA+++ customer suport. I am happy.

Works nicely. Bought it for the extensive download capability such as for netflix, extensive codecs, and downloadable update capability. Another plus is ability to output movies in their original frame rate of 24/sec. Internet capability is only by ethernet, but the UM advises if you prefer wireless, buy a bridge designed to communicate over a wireless network. A LAN adapter will not work, unless its one developed by Sony.

This player is great.Plays Blu-Rays with beautiful quality.Has a load of great streaming content including,Netflix,Amazon Video,You Tube,Sony Video,Blip,and hundreds of other great video content in great picture quality.

Like the fact that it is a single unit. Already had a Sony Blu-Ray (is there any other kind that compares??). Was considering a Roku for streaming from Netflix. But that again would be STILL another A/V unit and, besides, I was running out of HDMI inputs in the back of my TV as well as Audio inputs back of my Receiver.

Very pleased with the purchase, now that I've had it for over a month. Have been watching Netflix streaming (Fawlty Towers, Wire in the Blood - both BBC TV - for 2 extremes), as well as once a week a Blu-Ray movie. Have not tried some of the other sources for streaming video, but Sony supports quite a few.

I should also add that set-up was a breeze as the unit guides you, step by step. The ONLY complication is you also have to get authorized with Sony and Netflix on their websites. So have your laptop handy when installing.

Yes, there are those who will lament the lack of wireless reception. But for me that was hardly an issue as I have the wireless router placed right behind my TV with ethernet cable to the Sony Blu-Ray player and still get wireless for my laptops around the house.

Only lament is lack of content availability through the various streaming video sites. But that is where the industry is headed.

P.S. For good reception, you need 2.5-10 Mbps streaming video, especially any HD content.

P.S. I sold my one-year-old Blu-Ray player on CraigsList for this "USED but really like-new" unit on eBay and the NET cost to me was only $18... Not bad to add streaming video capability.

This machine did the job that we bought it for, so that we can stream movies to our TV from Netflix. Works like a charm. No problems.

What's not to love. It's a Sony. It plays just about anything. It streams Netflix.

I wouldn't be suprised if you see an upgrade to stream from RedBox.

As an upconverting DVD player PLUS Blu-Ray PLUS Internet Content, I am very pleased. It plays our homemade copies very well and the picture quality in the upconversion is quite a noticeable improvement over my previous DVD. I don't have any pressing desire to use the Blu-Ray yet, but I just plugged it in today. The internet content seems like a good variety and looks good on the tube, but I've just looked at a few channnels. I have my unit hardwired to my router but the time it takes to download some of the video is long, with long 'buffering' periods in between on all channels. The unit also does upgrades over the internet, which is nice. The remote works well and also operates our Sony TV. We got a new unit for $75 off Sony's list price. All in all, we are pleased with this unit for the money paid.

The up-convert on DVDs is amazing, not to mention the pristine picture on Blu Rays. Great features (Netflix, Amazon On-Demand). Worth the price.

easy to set up. Installing Netflix is easy if you call the company. I called Netflix because the site did not provide instructions for the Sony unit. Less than 1 minute on the phone and Netflix had it registered and running. Netflix Internet download is great quality.

Play back and viewing are fine. Glad I stuck to my plan and purchased a Sony.

I bought it to use direct streaming for movies basically, and to see if there really is a difference with Blu-Ray. It works very well, but I didn't realize that the actual wireless feature required a wireless bridge or direct line to the player. However, other than trying to decipher that, I am very pleased with the results. Also, the price was very competitive, and lower than most, which I appreciated when I had to buy the wireless bridge too. I would recommend this to anyone who wants to use direct streaming (i.e. Netflix) and there were other options available, which was a pleasant surprise.

A great Blu-Ray player loaded with the features I was looking for. I was looking for a cheaper alternative to my PS3 being my main component. Just trying to cut down on the wear and tear on my overly expensive 1st release PS3. This Unit takes the cake. Nice Sony menu interface with tons of online content for your viewing and listening especially Netflix, Amazon and You Tube. Amazon on demand is very nice with alot of new release HD movies to buy or rent. I only have 1 complaint so far and it is nitpicking. The remote does not have a eject button and I can't figure out how to get the eject button feature on my Logitech Harmony One remote.

I wanted to leverage my expensive internet connection and have a player that would easily integrate with my other Sony components. This player did just that! Setup was extremely easy, it updates itself when necessary, and works great!

I've experienced a few skips when streaming HD content (so far only about 1 skip every 5 movies.) So, though I can't say it's perfect, I'm certainly not complaining since it's most likely my internet and not the player. I've used Netflix and Amazon VoD. Both seem to work well.

I don't have the USB memory installed yet. That struck me as a little odd to be honest. It just seems as if that could have been included so that I could get the BD Live content. I'm not sure if the memory affects streaming video or not. Guess I still have some things to learn. In the meantime, I'm extremely happy!!

I bought the Sony BDP-N460 Blu-Ray player three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive player. It has a Very nice remote control. Easy to see and use. Fast disk load, about 10 sec.

CONS.
I bought it because it had netflex streaming video. I have comcast cable internet, averaging 4 to 8 MG downloads and I am using a wire internet connection, and i still get about 5 or 6 freeze ups for about 10 sec.each, per movie.

Needed a blu-ray player, but didn't realize one was out there that could be networked. Very pleased.

This DVD is fabulous. Works great, blue ray DVDs look fabulous on our flat screen TV. I wanted this specific DVD player because of its network capabilities and compatibility with Netflix, Sony, and others' instant view. Just identify the movies that you want to see on the pc and put them in your queue; then go to the TV's menu and start watching. I wanted to buy a blu ray player that was compatible with our Sony Bravia TV and Sony home theater system. The price is more than reasonable. And you can get updates from the internet!! You won't be sorry with this blu ray player.

I bought this Blu-ray player and set it up yesterday. Apart from playing Blu-ray Discs and DVDs, I loved the number of options if has for internet video streaming. Amazon Video on demand, Youtube, Netflix, Blip.tv, Wired.com, Style.com
The list is long. I connected it to Linksys wireless bridge WET610N and it working smoothly with it.
Now I can watch lots of online videos apart form the Blu-ray and DVD dics.
This the best blu-ray player in its category and the price is also low compared to similar LG BD390.
Anybody planning to buy a blu-ray player with online video capability should go for this one.

This is a nice DVD player with the NetFlix download and other online capability. A plus is the fast boot-up compared to the last year's model in the same series. The case and front panel seem very cheaply built, seems like the front door could break very easily. Exercise caution with it, but overall this is a good machine.

I was waiting for this baby to go less than $200. It does not have wireless capability but that doesn't matter to me. I have wired my system for ethernet in my cabinet. If you need wireless the 5xx model has this for you. Enjoy.
