Star Wars: The Clone Wars (DVD, 2008)

I've been a Star Wars fan all my life. I found that this new movie was alright. I knew I was in for an interesting movie when a bunch of kids were in the theatre with birthday parties, and they were all under 10!

Star Wars: The Clone Wars is a great start to the TV series but maybe not the best feature film. Nevertheless, kids will love it and adult "Star Wars" fans will want to check it out. I'm going to give it 3 out of 5, but I freely admit that may be generous.

I am a Star Wars fan , not a fanatic, but I have followed everything Star Wars since the first film in 1977 , and even this animated version of what links the Saga together in what has been one of the most highly anticipated productions in the Star Wars Universe ! With that said, I want to rave about the production quality , it has been done with taste, and keeping in tradition with the Star Wars legends , and this i one time, that even hardcore fans would be pleased with the storyline , because even written for childrens level thinking, this animated production still carries an intense storyline which can be enjoyed by all ages of fans . The only thing I did not like, is how it left me anxious for the series itself to be on and continuing the story !

story line seemed a bit short but the kids love watching it and have memorized it. It is less objectional than some other kid titles and the animation is much better than I expected from the posters and promotional stuff.

The animation was very strange for me.... it took me a while to appreciate it and enjoy it.

The storyline was uneven, but got better the more the film went on...

I actually am glad I continued watching the DVD, as I was inclined to stop about a quarter of the way through.

I enjoy the first three Star Wars films, and am okay with the last three. This DVD is about where I feel about the latter films. It's OK, but I would prefer to watch the earlier films even the upgraded CGI added re-issues.

This DVD is OK for the completist, but not for someone that would want to have a DVD to rewatch a few more times....

The film opens without the traditional scrolling prologue and is replaced by a transatlantic voice that would have been at home in a 1980's Saturday morning cartoon. From here we are thrown into episode 2.5 of the Star War saga. Without giving too much away about the plot: the acting and characters are wooden and two dimensional, even for a kids film (or for that matter a recent Star Wars film). The dynamic between Anakin Skywalker and his new sidekick, will grate on the nerves of anyone over the age of 8 years old. The stiff animation makes everyone come across as a cross between an action figure and a Thunderbird. Another problem is for a theatrically released film, it's "shot" (if you can call it that) in an almost camera-nailed-to-the-ground fashion. Compared to recent Pixar efforts, it looks about as cinematic as a midday tele-movie. The saving grace of this film are the fight scenes, which somewhat make up for the film failings everywhere else.

As a spin off from the Star Wars franchise it's OK at best, as a kids film there's much better, as a pilot episode to the upcoming cartoon series it's watchable and if compared to a direct to DVD Disney sequel, it's decent.

The seller was honest about the condition of the item, and it showed up in a timely fashion. The item will be enjoyed by all.

just what my brother wanted for christmas. it has not arrived yet, but if you sent it media mail instead of first class this explains why. you could probably offer the 1st class rate, most people do not mind a couple of extra cents to ship.

The movie was as exactly as advertised. I bought this item for son who loves Star Wars. He can't wait to get another movie in this series.

Like the 2003 animated short films of the same name, STAR WARS: THE CLONE WARS reveals what happened during the conflicts of the title, which are set between EPISODE II: ATTACK OF THE CLONES and EPISODE III: REVENGE OF THE SITH. Unlike the former series, this CLONE WARS feature film uses computer animation (rather than more traditional 2-D animation) to tell its tales, which follow Obi-Wan Kenobi (voiced by James Arnold Taylor), Anakin Skywalker (Matt Lanter), and precocious new Jedi recruit Ahsoka Tano (Ashley Eckstein) as they face off against the sinister Separatist forces led by Count Dooku (the legendary Christopher Lee, who reprises his role from the live-action movies). The film also features appearances by such beloved characters as Mace Windu (Samuel L. Jackson, also of EPISODES II and III), C3PO (Anthony Daniels), and Yoda (Tom Kane). Directed by Dave Filoni (AVATAR: THE LAST AIRBENDER), THE CLONE WARS shares the same era and characters as the 2003 series, but is stylistically quite different, with a blocky look influenced in part by the marionettes of the 1960s U.K. show THUNDERBIRDS. While the voices of actors such as Ewan McGregor, Hayden Christiansen, and Frank Oz are missed, their successors handle their mantles well, confidently leading the heroes in fierce battles and tense chases. Though diehards of the original STAR WARS trilogy may shrug their shoulders at the CGI wizardy, young fans will find much to enjoy in this action-packed movie, which promises to be continued in a regular Cartoon Network TV series.

My son loves this movie 5 yrs old and loves star wars.

I've seen the series and liked it, and missed the movie when it came out. Ebay is usually cheaper, so I looked here first. Payment was easy, and it arrived on time.

It is great for adults but my 4 year old loves it too. It has great animation and is a must have for all Star Wars lovers.

Good Movie - great for kids. Little slow in places - but still good movie. Action scenes were great too.

We rented this movie at our local Blockbuster. My son liked it so much we decided to buy it. Ebay is the cheapest way to go for buying these. This movie is really entertaining and action packed. The cool thing is how the characters really tie into some of the more recent Star Wars live action movies.

If you're tempted to buy it, I think you should. It's a great animated movie that is appealing to all ages of Star Wars fans.

Parents be warned that there are scenes of battles and violence.

Well most don't like alot of the newer movies and productions but over all i like it has action fun like most of the older movies had just with a Computer and long time before ina much more distant time.. and it's for all people who loves or might get into Starwars.. all ages and it clues you in more on the Clone Wars. Plus it Helps with the TV series.

He really likes it a lot.
