The 6th Target by James Patterson (2007, Unabridged, Compact Disc)

I bought this, because I have read all of the Patterson books. It was good, but not as good as some of the others.

Patterson, one of my favorite authors. This is part of a series, and he continues to have an even flow from where the last book left off. Its comforting to hear it being read by the same person as you identify more closely with the characters! I will continue to look and purchase any book by James Patterson as he has captivated my from the start.

In this installment of Ms Boxer, we get a look inside of her peronal life. I like the way the characters are protrayed and how this novel developes leading you down all the right paths. Mr Patterson has accomplished it again, with diveristy and change. A very well written novel and easy to listen to and not wanting to get out of your car when you get home to see what is around the next corner.

In almost all of my review I don't get into the real details of the book, novel, movie, since I want you to get what I got from the characters, I feel if you explain to much then you might give something away.


Highly recommended to any Patterson fan, or anyone liking a good detective novel.

Classic Patterson. Moves along with just enough action to keep it interesting. Good read. Characters stay interesting and the reader is always good.

After listening to the other 5 in the series, this book was a bit of a let down. It seemed contrived and hurried as if Mr. Patterson was just trying to make a quick buck. It was just not as riveting as one has come to expect from this author in this series. It felt almost as if another writer was given the formula and told to write the book. The story idea was a good one but it was like some movies that keep jumping from one scene to the next and by the time they get back to the first the reader has almost forgotten what had happened before. This could have been a much better book than it was.

All your favorite characters return with Lindsey Boxer.,as always several subplots.Character development is very evident in this latest installment. It's packed with suspense during each twist and turn.

I've collected all the books in this "Women's Murder Club" series, but I was disappointed in this one. Patterson continues his unnecessarily gratuitous violence (one of the marks of a fundamentally weak writer) and fast pacing (with little character development despite juvenile attempts), and the stories are getting really contrived. I could predict the end well in advance and the protagonists' treatment of a mentally ill perpetrator shows incredible lack of depth or understanding. On my CD audiobook copy the last CD was unplayable.

I try to read or listen to all of James Patterson's books. The 6th Target is the 6th book in Patterson's series about The Women's Murder Club. I would rate this book as average in comparison to the other five. In my opinion, it did not have as much mystery and suspense as the other books in the series. It was more about the trial of a mad man. Patterson did leave the door open for his 7th book in this series and I will be ready for that, because all of Patterson books are great entertainment!
