American Idol (PlayStation 2, 2003)

I got this game for our family because we love to sing my kids and I like to get together and play the Karaoke Revolution and we can sing with a mic... But with American Idol you can not sing with a mic at all my kids and me do not like the game... The only thing I like about the game is the songs that are on it If they can make a American Idol Karaoke so we can use a mic and sing with it that would be good... Thank you

I bought this game for my gf, thinking that it would be a karaoke type of game.

But it's not. American Idol is a rhythm game which asks you to press the square, triangle, circle and cross in sync with the music. The game is very similar to gitaroo man, and to a extend, also with ddr, only with buttons.

on the bright side, the range of music is actually quite good, and it's quite funny to listen to your player go tone deaf when you don't press the right button at the right time.

overall, if you like american idol, you might enjoy this game. the price is quite good on ebay too.

My daughter felt this game was awful!! She said the host is not Ryan Seacrest and that the game was just dumb. She will not play it after only using it once

Overall this is a fun game to play. It's a little hard to use at first, but once you figure it out it's not that bad.

Once you master how to hit the buttons right it's easy, but some combinations are still hard. There are times when you have to hit multiple buttons at the same time, I can never get it to work right. So I just stay away from songs with that in them.

You can also change your characters outfits after each level, but you're very limited on what you can choose. It should have a lot more selections.

So all in all, it's worth a try.

The music selection is overall horible the gameplay is basic. Overall the game might be suitable for the 6-12 year old age range.

Disliked This game because I thought it was the kind where you actually sang with the mic and were scored by the judges. This game to play, all you have to do is press buttons on the controller. Sure you can still sing along, but the fun is in singing and getting your own feedback for your own performance, not whether or not you can press some buttons. In a word, dissappointing.

I truly wish I would have seen the review button before I bought this game. I bought it because my family loves to sing, and that's not what this game is. I think the description of this item is not telling of the product. It misleads you to think you get to sing and be judged by Simon, Paula and Randy. I'm sooo disappointed, I don't have enough words or time to express! This game is totally useless to us.

The game came sealed and is awesome easy to learn and fun to play alone or with others. It is very interactive and engaging for all ages.

This is a game anyone can play, no matter their age. I like it because my kids and their friends played it for quite a while, with not a bit of violence in it! It is hard to listen to the off-key singers they can manufacture, but easier (to me) than watching the killing done on some games.

I bought the American Idol game for my nephews for a christmas party about two weeks ago and was immediately impressed. I was impressed with the seller communication and quick shipping. He really enjoying the game. The game was slightly used but works great. The price for the game is excellent. I will buy from the seller game... Thanks

The description of the game wasn't really made clear that this was more of a dancing game rather than a singing game. I was disappointed about that. Also I was disappointed that the seller listed the game in "near excellent condition" and as "like new", but it was neither. The disc was very scratched and dirty when I got it.

I like buy for ebay, but in april 22, 2009 I buy a game the american idol past 16 days and not receives the games I'm write two msg and no answer i"m stay very deception with this buy...

The modern day replacement to games such as Win, Lose, or Draw. An absolute blast at parties and get togethers. We purchased this and a few other Platystation 2 games for our playstation 3. They still play on the 3 but you save about 40 dollars a game by purchasing the playstaion 2 game. This isn't an action game so graphics aren't that important just the game play and that part isn't any different.

There is nothing that I enjoy about this game. When you buy a game titled American Idol, you expect to sing. However, with this game your score is determined by how fast you can push buttons. Whack-A-Mole would be more exciting than this piece of garbage!

My daughter and I were very disappointed in this game, as we thought it was like karoke and we would be singing and competing. It really is not very fun!

This game is so much fun!! My friends and I had a blast playing it! I really love how realistic the judges are for the game it's pretty funny! Even as a video game Simon tells the awful truth. If you like karaoke games you'll love this,

great transaction and great product. I had the most fun Christmas with my family and friends playing this game. We even beat the game and became the next american idol. As you progress you unlock different players and songs. It has different levels and games on it so you never get bored.

I wanted to get a more recent version. The version that arrived was in the condition as advertised, but it was a version that was so old that it is really not what I was looking for.

Received promptly. The game itself is kind of an old one. We don't play it very often. But all in all the service was good. No complaints.

Love the charters! This is something that is fun for the whole family and friends.
Different levels are great. I am yet to go to hollywood and I am told by the judges I sound like 20 cats thats has been shaken in a bag or something like that.

This has a better song selection of classics more people will know if you play with a group. The gameis alwas more fun with duets played with 2 microphones or headsets. Knockouts find the best singer in the group.
