P.O.V. - What I Want My Words to Do to You (DVD, 2004)

Great DVD for parents to sit down and watch; then, have their children watch this DVD with them followed by a family discussion. Have your children first write about their thoughts on this DVD; parents should reinforce the POWER OF CHOICES, TRUE FRIENDS WILL NEVER OFFER THEM DRUGS YET ALONE ENTICE THEM INTO CRIMINAL ACTIVITIES, and WE ARE ALL seriously 1 BAD CHOICE FROM BEING THROWN INTO THE CRIMINAL SYSTEM.

All the more reason WHY parents should instruct their children that as long as they have a life, they have CHOICES.
What could these women have done differently? (no judgement against the women, just focusing on choices)
People who are on drugs, in prisons, victims of rape, and etc are someone's son, daughter, parent, sibling, friend, and most of all human. If we are going to do something about the prison system in America with revolving doors, we NEED to reconsider true rehabilitation. Many people in prison are suffering from mental issues that may be released back into society with the probability of returning.

It was emotionally touching how these women managed to confront events prior to them becoming a criminal, the event that resulted in their sentencing, and their attempt to make mends. Prisoners come from ALL types of societies, family upbringing, neighborhoods, aces, genders, and etc. There is no reason to judge them, just watch their unfolding.
