The Beatles - Help! (DVD, 2007, 2-Disc Set)

Well written, well produced, well filmed and well edited. The Beatles themselves didn't do a bad job of acting either !

This film went through a massive restoration process when it was first released on DVD some years back. Brilliant color, sharp contrast & focus and awesome audio ! Watch the Beatles clown around and lip sync to some very pleasant and classic Beatle tunes.

Part of what makes this film so magical is the different countries it was filmed in. It is said that much of the film was filmed outside of England to avoid being taxed to death.

The film Help! spawned such television shows as "The Monkees" and "Bananna Splits". The film Help! is enjoyable to a larger audience compared to The Beatles film "Let It Be" or their made-for television film "Magical Mystery Tour"

Not all Help! DVD releases are equal, so expect prices to be high & low when shopping for this title. The older DVD releases of Help! were available by itself or in a small box set with a few other Beatle films ( both out of production and rare). The newest releases ( 2007 ) are the standard edition with 16 page booklet that lists for $29.95 and the deluxe limited edition that has a custom box, a reproduction of the directors original script , a 60 page hard cover book, a reproduction of original film poster and lobby cards that list for $149.95 - both 2007 editions have 2 discs, the film Help! and the "Making of Help".

Seeing this for the first time was a wonderful experience. Seeing for the first time this time was even better. The mastery in recreating this movie to enhance all the elements makes this even more entertaining. The extras were a superb addition.

This movie was great. The Beatles, still early in their career, do a great job with awesome music (Ticket to Ride, Your Gonna Lose That Girl, It's Only Love, Help!, Hard Days Night) and comedic flare.
In the movie Ringo accepts a ring from a fan and unwittingly becomes wanted by a religious cult. Much of the film is filled with slapstick whimsy. The Beatles are particularly good out on the slopes!
This is a must have movie for any Beatles fan and a fun movie for everyone!

I love The Beatles which may make me a little bias. I hear that the Beatles themselves were disappointed in it but I think it is great. Humor is a little nuts, but if you like the Beatles-style humor I think you'll love this movie too.

Great deal with so many items. I recently watched The Beatles Anthology on dvd and enjoyed it so much I bought both movies Help and Hard Days Night. I was only 6 when the Beatles came over but I liked them and The Monkees. Feel good music all the way....

the beatles in full color spin their majic over again,loved it in the movies but now to my surpize itwas even better.as anyone who remmbers wacthing what at the time long ago and far away was a good movie now seems to be dull and silly because somehow it did not stand the test of time,.well that,s not the case with help. the four beatles together worked a magic that seems to have been lost.john and paul wrote their best music when they were beatles ringo was great and so was george as you watch help you will want to know was anyting really so bad that not be worked out.nope ego is very hard to control,damm shame if you ask me and i guess you never will.gustkjng

I have wanted this for many years. I grew up with the Beatles. I found the DVD in excellent condition. I'm very happy.

The movie was really funny the first time I saw it, and is one of my favoritest movies starring yours truely, the Fab Four. :-) I would recommend this to anyone.

This movie will bring you back! The plot is rather silly, but hearing those songs again, and seeing the Beatles singing them is wonderful!

The BOX it came in said that there are 2 DVD's in it. (There was only one!)
It talked alot about the 2nd DVD and the "Making of HELP" in it. It also talked about alot of other stuff on the 2nd DVD too.
There was ONLY 1 DVD and not 2 DVD's like the box said on it!
The 2007, DVD was to have 2 DVD's in it!.............It only had 1 DVD.

It's been a long time since I have seen the movie HELP!. I remember as a kid liking this movie better than A Hard Day's Night but that is no longer the case. Although I like HELP!, I just think AHDN is a better movie. HELP! actually has a bit of a plot, as opposed to AHDN which just follows the Beatles for a couple of days as they prepare to be guests on a variety show, but HELP! is overly silly at times. The plot focuses on an eastern religious cult which has daily (yes, daily) sacrifices to their god Kaili. These sacrifices require the victim to wear a ring which has somehow been acquired by Ringo. Try as they might, the cult just can't seem to get the ring back as they follow the Fab Four all over the world in various attempts to do so. Ringo is very willing to give the ring back but it won't come off of his finger. Eventually, however, it just falls off at the end of the movie. Some of The Beatles best early music is in this movie and that alone makes it worth owning. Unlike AHDN, the music is synchronised to the footage so that it actually looks like the boys are playing in the recording studio, the apartment in which all four live, and other places. As mentioned earlier, HELP! gets too silly at times, such as the boys housekeeper(?) mowing a lawn-like carpet with wind-up teeth, Paul getting shrunken down to almost microscopic size, and Paul's attempt to be an indian scout. Overall, though, it is a movie worth owning if just for the music which is, well, fabulous. All true Beatle fans should own this movie. It is good, but not great.

This was a trip into time and what a great way to relax. This group was the best. The humor and personalities come out in a strange story over Ringo's Ring. If you love the sixties and the Beatles you will love this movie.

We had the VHS movie as a child and would watch it over and over again. Have been looking for a DVD copy forEVAH! Thank goodness for the new release!

The Beatles movie, "Help" was a fun experience to watch. Having been a Beatles fan throughout my life, and still an active fan, buying and seeing this movie was awesome. In today's society we are missing out on a time in our country when life, although complex and undergoing changes, was a far simplier and fun place to exist in. True each generation can also say this, has said this, and will say this, seeing a movie, such as "Help" does, indeed, "Help" us through the complexities of today, and brings us home to a day when 4 young lads, known as the Beatles, were the headliners, and who all, in their own way, did, indeed "Help" a society and shaped a culture. To watch this movie again was to relive these days of yesterday, and I am thankful.

It was the remastered version & both my niece & nephew who were born in the 90's enjoyed as much as I did when I first saw it in the 60's !!
