Live at Radio City Music Hall by Dave Matthews (CD, Aug-2007, 2 Discs, RCA Records USA)

This 2 CD set of Matthews' tunes from both the DMB and his solo recordings is an excellent listen. Matthews is joined on stage by the brilliant Tim Reynolds and together they play to a very appreciative audience.

For the most part, this live set really works well from the opening "Bartender" through to terrific renditions of "Crush," "Gravedigger," and "Some Devil," through to the stand out "Crash into Me" and the brilliant cover versions like Neil Young's "Down by the River," Daniel Lanois' "The Maker," and Woody Guthrie's "This Land Is Your Land".

To quote AllMusic "For Matthews fans, this is essential. For those on the fence about Matthews, this is document enough to win you over to his talent as a songwriter...."

Had inital communication problems withthe seller but those were resolved, the CD was purchased as a gift for a friend who live and dies for both DMBand Stevie Nicks

I think that this live performance of these two awesome players is the best!
The audio quality is superb. I just love these guys.....

If you are into acustic set of Dave and Tim Reynolds, this is a must have for your collection. Not nearly as good as the televised special but then again is a 2 cd set and more music. Don't like the 'speaking' parts as I don't care what the artist has to say about the war/government/politics..got it for the music. And the music is good.

Dave and Tim put on an amazing show. This cd is full of classics and some songs that are pretty unknown but it is still great music for any occasion.

It is a rare treat to hear such incredible musicianship as that provided by these two virtuosos of the guitar. I hope thay do many more. Dave Matthews songwriting combines wit, emotion and excellent phrasing.

Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds shine in this accoustic treat. From Dave's whimsical banter, to the soul filled renditions of favorites, new and old, this album is fantastic from start to finish. It is unusual to find an artist who sounds as good live as he does on CD, but, as always, Dave delivers. There is a pleasing mix of songs on this album. Crash, Crazy, and Two Step, mingle nicely with Gravedigger, When The World Ends, and Walking Man. I can't say enough good things about this album. I am a die hard DMB fan and must admit that I already have many of these songs on other albums. However, each live performance is different and each song has a unique flavor each time he performs it. BUY THIS ALBUM!!

Great live accoustic CD. I saw Dave and Tim's accoustic show in Vegas and loved it. This CD comes close.
