Fish Tycoon (Nintendo DS, 2007)

I bought this game for my daughter and she LOVED it. I don't play the DS much so I don't know a lot about the game. I've played it a few times and found it fun. My favorite feature is that the fish are named after real fish breeds. They are not made up like some games. People say it is a slow game but you can speed it up and buy growth hormone. It is really fun breeding fish and trying to find the 7 magical fish. The magical fish have real names too. I got it for $25 so I think if you pay under $25 you are lucky. I hope this helps you decide whether or not to buy this game.

First of all let me start by saying this game needs a lot of patients!! Things don't happen quickly. You can speed things up only 2x as fast as "normal" time, but is still like taking care of a real salt water fish tank.

That being said, I do really like the game. You basically raise fish, sell them, make money and bye more fish and add ons for your tank. You also have to buy research for better food, advertisement and proper care for rarer fish.

There are 7 magic fish that benefit your fish. When you discover one it leaves a sparkle trail as it swims. So far I have found 5 and am having a heck of a time figuring out the last two, but I know I will. This is where the patients comes in as well.

All in all, I would recomend this game if you like this sort of thing. Its relaxing to play and I do feel it was money well spent.

I bought the game because me kids wanted it. It is great for young kids and pre teens. They loved it so much I had to buy another game so they could play at the same time. It is a well thought out program. It gives them the opportunity to buy and sell fish. It teaches them how to manage money. Maybe I should get one for my husband!

Great price, brand new!!!! Kids love the game! The game is about making and taking care of your own aquarium. You can win different exotic fish and win points to upgrade your aquarium. I definitely recommend this game.

The reason for such a rating is because the game only gives you a small amount of money to start $300-$500. You need all these supplies for your fish to be able to breed and make money. But you can't afford anything so your fish start to die. Every item needed to do this is several hundred or up to thousand dollars. I was very hard to navigate and to understand how to run the game.The directions are of no help either. It is very difficult,and becomes boring very quickly. It is also played in real time so if you don't play the game,until the following day, most likely you will find your fish dead. And need to start all over again. Over all don't waste your money, unless you are a gamer and have played this on another system and know the ins and outs.

You have to have a lot of patience for this game. The fish don't grow very quickly or sell easily. Not like rollercoaster tycoon by a long shot. I bought it because my neice had it and said it was fun, but it didn't have enough excitement for me.

this game is not for young kids.it is very difficult to keep the fish alive.If you make three different groups to play on and stop the time on each one fish will still die.bad game.

Grandson seems to play this one alot really gets into caring for the fish and setting things up. Would Buy again you won't be disappointed iin this product

I decided to buy Fish Tycoon because my daughter borrowed one of her friends' Fish Tycoon games. She absolutely loves it. You have to breed fish and come up with new "magic breeds". To earn money you have to sell fish at a store...you come up with the prices to most efficiently sell your fish. We have both found it a little hard to sell fish and to figure out how to keep the baby fish alive, but it DOES get addicting!

Not the best tycoon game, but not a bad game in itself. It is intresting and can be very frustrating because unless you remember to stop time every night before you go to sleep you will wake up with a bunch of dead fish. Over all unless you like Sim type games or like watching fish this prolly isn't the game for you.

The graphics are well done and the concept is great... but I don't play the game all the time and it operates in real time. If you leave your game alone for too long all your fish die and you have to start over. Perfect for people that play until they complete all of the levels - not as good for the occasional playtime.

You have to keep playing game constantly or your fish all die. I have work and other commitments so cannot be playing the game all the time.

This is a good game for people who arent after any actual challenges. The only challenge in this is keeping the fish alive. Since its in 'real time' fish tend to die easily if you miss a day of play. Overall its a decent game, it would have been better with more variety and if the real time wasnt so threatening. For a better pet game, Id say Nintendogs is best, at least with that the pups never die and are always happy to see you!
