Having heard almost every Brad Paisley song out there, I must say that this cd is easily his best work. Like most Paisley cds it has every range of song; from upbeat, funny to sentimental love songs. If you like other Brad cd's you will certainly not be disappointed with 5th gear. Likewise, if you like the first single "ticks" you'll be pleased because there are a few other songs that display the same wit. "I'm still a Man" is similar in the clever lyrics. A sure single is "Online" This is by far my favorite track on the album. It's a clever look at the way people's looks become exaggerated while chatting on the internet. This track is so funny, you will have to listen to it again and again! The song discusses an overweight, momma's boy who still lives at home. However he says he's "so much cooler online." Online he's a 6'5" and looks "damn good" and drives a mazzeratti. However the truth is that he is 5'3" and overweight. It's funny...trust me!!!!
Another great track is "Letter to Me" which does just that...it tells what he would write to himself at the age of 17. It's a slower song and really tells the truth on a lot of things. It tells of things he sees now but didn't understand at the young age of 17. Basically they are life-lessons
Lastly, another slower song "It Did" is an amazing look at life. It describes several moments in life and how you may think it can't get better, but it can!!! It's a very emotional and inspirational look at life.
Overall this album is amazing. There's something for everyone on this. If you're into comedy, it's here. If you like love songs, they're here. If you like to just have a good time, you will with this album...his best yet! *****

Brad Paisley is an awesome singer and this is one his best CDs in my opinion. I personally like the song "Online", but you might like something else. If you like country music buy this on eBay or your online music store. You won't be sorry.

It just keeps getting better with every cd he makes. This one you can go from front to back and not hear a bad song. I think this is his best cd so far. I give this a 5 star rating because it truly deserves it.

Brad Paisley has done it again!! A fantastic collection of music! Some slow songs, mixed with his usual humorous side of country music. A must have to complete your collection. Each CD is better than the last!

) I bought this CD for my youngest daughter for Christmas and I'm the one who fell in love with it. Brad Paisley is one talented young man. The lyrics in almost all of the songs literally tell a story. I especially like "Letter From Me." He's sure to be a big star in the country music industry for a long time.

We all know Brad Paisley has sold a gazillion albums and he's one of country's greats, so there's nothing I can really say that someone else hasn't already. I just wanted to repeat the one thing that most impresses me about this artist and ALL of his albums ... his consistency in making sure there is at least one gospel track on EVERY cd he produces. We all know that religion can be a "trend" sometimes and if everyone in Hollywood is doing it, then it's pretty common to see lots of artist jump onto the band wagon. However, Brad Paisley's inclusion of at least one gospel track on every cd came before the latest "hollywood gospel trend" and has continued long after. I just want to say KEEP IT UP, BRAD! You do an incredible job with all the gospel songs and it's so nice to know that you remember the real reason why you are where you are- not the fans, not your manager, not even you, but GOD! You can only accomplish what he ALLOWS you to accomplish and it's nice to see that you still remember that ... whether it's trendy or not! Don't change a thing!

Just AlrightSome good songs (Letter To Me) but the rest sounds like typical Brad Paisley. How about something new. We know Brad can have fun with his guitar but it's just a little too much on this one. Get it as inexpensive as you can!

I love Brad Paisley and was eager to find his newest cd *5th Gear*. I love his song "Ticks" and I was able to find the cd without a problem. I bought this cd a month ago and I listen to it every day. I even bought a second cd just so I have one in the kitchen and one in the bedroom. Brad Paisley has done it again and given his all in this cd of heart felt song. The cd is so good that every home should have one, even if it is for those calm times that everyone needs.

Great albumSimply outstanding. There is just no other way to explain Brad Paisley, his talent, and this album. I have all of his CD's and love everyone of them! This one is no exception. Great work, wonderful music, and a gift to hear a little bit of yourself in every album! Thank you Brad!
