Jam Sessions (Nintendo DS, 2007)

I do not know how to play a musical instrument. Always wanted to learn guitar. Unlike Guitar heroes, the band, etc...Jam is actually a learning to play tool. You could conceivably learn to play a real guitar practicing. I have bought over 30 games for my DS lite alone. Everyone in my family have one. Heres the kicker, I am soon to be 58 years old, nd I take my DS everywhere. Now those annoying doctors appt. are just recess to play. The games are crossing ge barriers. And game makers seem to be keeping us boomers entertained! Ye Nintendo! We also have Wii! Jam is one of those games everyone can play with!@

I've played guitar for 6 years but it's sometimes a hassle tuning and changing strings and I am up at night and can't play as I don't want to wake anyone up.
This is NOT a game but a simulater.Sound is very good and you can change the tone like with a CAPO with real guitars.Has tons of chords to choose from.And many songs included so you cant play them with the lyrics and sing along.The interface is simple but probably my favorite game/program I have bought for my DS.

A great DS program for those who play or want to play guitar.

i bought this game for my 12yr. old.. its ok,, i don't she says it is hard to hold and play like a guitar. i think if she would have played it before i bought it.. i probably wouldn't have spent the money on it.. she does like the songs it has on it. i bought it for her because she likes music instrucments and i thought it would be interesting to play..

My son was so psyched to get this but turned out once he got it that it's not such an exciting game! he is a real guitar player (10 years old). maybe that is the reason for his dissapointment. he will mess around with it from time to time but i am sure glad i didnt pay retail price for it!

This game is a lot of fun. I am learning how to move my fingers better so that my "songs" sound better. You can actually make out the songs & the notes too. I think this is DS's version to Guitar Hero, you are just not competing with anyone except yourself!

My 7 year old LOVES this game! He can write his own songs and save them to listen to over and over again! He is a little young for GUITAR HERO, so this is perfect for his hands! A+++ game!

great product !! teaching my daughter to know sounds by ear helping her with music class!! hard to use at first but once you get going.. I have played it too.. would suggest to everyone with a DS!!

Great Idea, I wish Guitar Hero and Rockband would have thought to put a mode that allows the gamer to play any song they want. Jam Sessions allows the player to experience the sound of playing a guitar with little playing time. Definitely a good buy.

This game doesn't even deserve HALF a star.
Its ridiculous.
I bought it and took it back for a refund the same day.
Its so awkward, the way you have to "strum" the "strings" especially for right-handed people.
Wow, i cannot believe this game even made it to creation.

I purchased my daughter a guitar a while back and hoped that her uncle would teach her, but it didn't work out that way. I purchased this hoping that it would help her and guess what it did! She likes it because she can learn at her own pace. Good purchase and a great way to help your up and comming rocker! Recommend for anyone that wants to learn the guitar!

Good game for adults because the songs are familiar and easy to play. Not a good game for children under the age of 12 because the artists and songs are unfamiliar to them and the game becomes difficult.

This Jam Sessions "game" is great for anyone who has a musical bone in their body. Easy enough for my 9-yr-old to use. Simple instructions on the screen. Fun to play.

Its nice to so gaming companies use the DS to its potential. The way you strum and play guitar is amazing, and the sound is nice to. Its good to be able to play songs or just go have your own jam session and record it. Only reason why i didnt label it excellent was because i wish there would have been more to do. Even a local multiplayer would have been nice. But it is what is is. A very fun pick-up and play title!
