Timeless [Bonus Tracks] by Martina McBride (CD, Mar-2006, RCA Records USA)

Martina McBride takes on some real giants, here, and shows incredible range in her song selection. Johnny Cash, Buddy Holly, Loretta Lynn, Hank Williams, and the roster of greats just goes on. She doesn't always take the expected classics, either. Sometimes she goes her own way and picks up some little known or mostly forgotten songs and breathes new life into them. I Still Miss Someone gives me chills every time she sings it.

This is a very worthwhile addition to your collection. I most heartily recommend it.

These recordings were all done with period-correct instruments as well as period-correct technology; old-school analog microphones deliver a warmer "voice" markedly different from today's digitally specific electronic instruments, and the old-time vintage electronic recording equipment employed complete the analog aura of the time when these TIMELESS classics were initially recorded.

Subsequent listening sessions continue to impress me.

Martina McBride is absoltely wonderful in this cd. She is a great preformer and with these classic songs....what more could a fan ask for? I had this cd before and it got ruined, so I bought it again and will buy it again should this one get ruined.
