The Simpsons Game (Wii, 2007)

Homer, Marge, Bart, and Lisa use exciting, all-new powers to save the world from rising chaos. To help the Simpsons, gamers at home must journey through all of Springfield (as well as vast worlds beyond!), vanquish an amazing array of villains, and fight their way through parodies of multiple popular games.

Lots of fun, but difficult for younger players. Skill level needs to be high, you need to be able to coordinate your jumps and follow through to complete the tasks. Timed events, but unlimited as you do them.

I bought this game when my girlfriend was visiting because I heard that it had a great co-op mode and was pretty easy for all ages. What I heard was true on all accounts. We played the entire game in split screen co-op mode and had a blast. It makes doing all of the tasks a lot easier and allows both characters to basically free roam the entire level.

My only complaint is that it is a short game, since we beat it together in about 9-10 hours.

If you are simpsons fan and are looking for a good 2 player co-op game, then I would suggest getting this.

I played the game all the way through and enjoyed it immensely, as I am both an avid gamer and a die-hard Simpsons fan. The game was incredible and satisfied both my love of games and the TV show. Play as all five Simpsons (including baby Maggie)! All characters have unique special abilities which need to be used together to solve problems and fight your way through the various episodes (or levels). This is the best Simpsons game to date includes cameos from all your favorite side characters and the end boss is a HUGE surprise and very fun. Unlockables and side games keep you busy trying to achieve 100% completion while original dialog keeps you laughing all the way through. It was a thrill to have access throughout the Simpson's classic house and yard while playing through levels derived from various episodes and some completely new ones. Simpson's fans will have a GREAT experience. Several levels spoof existing popular game titles such as Grand Theft Auto (this is a very G-rated version where Marge and Lisa clean up the nasty game. Not graphic or offensive in any way.), Medal of Honor, Pokemon, and more. Honestly, the storyline and gameplay are incredible. The game is easily one of the top Wii titles available and very family-friendly.

Fun game. Got tired of renting and didn't want to pay retail prices for games now days. Game has medium to hard difficulty for someone who isn't an avid gamer.

Love the video game. Its fun for the entire family. A must have the the Wii system. My kids are 6 and 4 and they could play together and not fight over the controller. This game has lots to do and adventures are endless.

Lots of Fun, not racing like other simpsons games. It's action! Tons of funny one-liners. Homer is hilarious. Great game, everyone with a wii should own it.

This game has excellent graphics. You put the game in your Wii and it seems like you are watching the tv series. You start out as Homer and then Bart. You start out with Homer having a dream about chocolate bunnies who attack him. He has to eat the bunnies to advance thru the level and get to the white chocolate bunny which he has to eat. The next level you can be Bart or Homer and explore a musuem.Each level of the museum was fun and challenging with objectives you need to do to advance thru the game.We are now stuck in the space section of the museum and are stuck on how to scare the bully on top of the rocket. This is the only part we do not like about the game,is that we are stuck here trying to figure out how to scare the bully and advance thru the next level.You can also be other Simpsons characters like Marge and Lisa,but we did not get that far in the game yet.So far, this is a fun game, but a little on the challenging side. It is somewhat like a puzzle, that you need to think on what to do to get thru each level.I would recommend this game to any Simpsons fan or anyone who likes games where you need to think a little to get thru the game.

This game has excellent Wii graphics, and the adventures are what they might have in the show. It's very difficult to lose, but there are some puzzles within the game that you have to figure out yourself, which is half the fun. Each level becomes more difficult. I'd recommend using the nunchuk with this game to control the characters. Homer and Bart need to work together on this one, making mischief along the way.

I love the game, it's funny, great animation. I love the Simpsons and expected great things from the game. The annoying part of the game so far, is that I get so close to winning a game, and can't quite make it. The tutorial could have been better; and this game doesn't give you many helpful hints. It doesn't tell you how you can improve your chances of winning. On a scale of 1 to 5; 1 being easy and 5 being hard, I'd rate it a 3, and would recommend it to kids who have had their WII system for at least a month--if it's your first game, it will be frustrating to try to use the controls and play the game.

The Simpson's Game is yet another game starring America's beloved dysfunctional family. It is a licensed game that features all the voice actors (there's over 8,000 original lines for the game or something ridiculously high) and some animated segments/shorts. Basically, it's a really long episode of the Simpsons, as an episode it's spectacular....as a game, it's short.

Gameplay: 6/10
Pros: Each family member has a different skill set, the levels offer a great variety and reference many classic episodes.
Cons: Gameplay is a heavy copycat of 3rd person platformers and even includes a troublesome camera and resulting frustration.

Graphics: 8/10
Pros: Playing this game is like playing the TV show. The game captures Springfield and the look of the show better than any other Simpsons game before it.
Cons: The cartoon / cel-shaded look definitely doesn't push the PS3 or Xbox360 or is all that impressive up to other next gen games.

Sound/Music: 9.5/10
Pros: The Voicework and effort of the actual cast in this game pays off. The story is great and the quips during gameplay to the actual script itself is fantastic and hysterical.

Lasting Appeal: 3/10
Pros: You'll absolutely want to play through the story and enjoy the script/writing and humor. If you really care about collecting things...there's PLENTY of that.
Cons: I beat the main game in about 3 days and 8 hours (Great rental - terrible buy). Now that I've seen the story, the gameplay, collectibles, achievements, etc. will not bring me back to the game. I don't care about collecting Homer's bottle caps, Bart's posters, etc. (though the Video game cliche's are pretty funnY). I'm done and it was fun while it lasted...just not $60 of fun.

As a game, the Simpson's Game isn't very good. It is an amazing Simpsons Episode with a phenomenal script, excellent voicework and decent gameplay to get you through it all. It's a great licensed game, but unfortunately if this game wasn't the Simpson's and didn't have the money and quality voice work and humor, it would probably drop an additional 10 pts or so. If your a fan of the Simpsons, you gotta rent it. If you're only a gamer, forget it.

I bought this game and was so disappointed. Moving the characters is difficult and cumbersome. Basically, you have to follow step-by-step to finish the levels, which doesn't feel creative at all. I felt like I was finishing an assignment rather than playing a game.

I would strongly not recommend buying this game.

Good concept, great use of characters, voices, in-jokes, etc., but horrible gameplay, maneuverability, and camera work.

great gift. my brother in law loves the simpsons and this was the easiest way to find it. great price, shipping was reasonable and it beats trucking through the snow and fighting over a parking spot.

This game is very funny. We are not avid gamers so working the way through the game would probably be easier for real gamers, but it is really funny.

Came packaged well and in a timely manner! Will be opening on Xmas....Looking forward to giving this gift as a present to the family during the holdays...

I bought this game for our 8 year old girl. She loves the game. I find it to be a challenge as well as very entertaining. I do recommend this game, (if you are a simpson fan).
