I've had this phone for about 4 months now and I'm not sure if I could be anymore impressed! I would probably give the "looks" of the phone a 4/5 though. But when you flip this thing open, it's so sleek and cool looking. The screen is pretty large which makes just about EVERYTHING alot nicer and easier to read! It also has an outside player featuring a play/pause, next, and previous button on the front of the phone, so you don't even have to open the phone to listen to all your tunes! (the 3 lines on the front of the phone is a speaker which delivers VERY impressive sound!)

Pros:
-Very thin
-Outside player w/ outside screen
-Expandable memory (Up to 2GB)
-1.3MP camera (Wonderful!!)
-VERY long battery life!
-Big screen
-Bluetooth
-Instant Messenger
-Vcast

Cons:
-Outside design could be SLIGHTY better looking
-Could make screen open a little farther to best view the screen
THAT'S IT!!!

This is a wonderful phone and WELL worth your money! I love it!

Nokia 6315i : THE GOOD, THE BAD AND THE BOTTOM LINE
Review created: 02/25/07
by:
8 of 8 people found this review helpful.

THE GOOD: The Nokia 6315i has decent call quality and a broad range of features including Bluetooth, a speakerphone, and EV-DO capability.

THE BAD: The Nokia 6315i's design is dull, and the controls are poorly designed. Also, music and video quality were uninspiring.

THE BOTTOM LINE: Though it works fine as just a phone, the Nokia 6315i doesn't quite deliver on its 3G multimedia promises.

I'll be frank by saying the Nokia 6315i doesn't offer much in terms of design. Instead of resembling the slick 6305i, it looks more like its other Nokia/Pantech sibling, the basic Nokia 6215i. Sporting an angular, boxy flip phone shape with a dull black and silver color scheme, the 6315i hardly looks like a multimedia phone save for the dedicated music-player buttons on the front flap. At 3.5 by 1.9 by 0.7 inches and 3.5 ounces, the 6315i is neither big nor small, but it does make a nod toward the thin-phone craze. The stubby antenna adds a bit more girth, but the phone has a solid feeling in the hand; the opening mechanism felt somewhat loose.

The external display measure 1 inch (96x96 pixels) and shows 65,536 colors. It's a nice effort overall as it displays not only the date, time, signal strength, and battery life, but also photo caller ID. You can change the wallpaper and the clock style on the display, but no other options are customizable. It also acts as a viewfinder for self-portraits, but you must go into the camera option to activate this feature. Speaking of which, the camera lens and flash are inconveniently located on the top rear of the phone.

The 1.3-megapixel camera takes pictures in five resolutions (1,280x960; 640x480; 320x240; 176x144; and 160x120) and comes with a 3-, 5-, or 10-second self-timer; brightness and white-balance controls; landscape and portrait modes; three color effects; and three shutter sounds, plus a silent option. There's also a flash and a 2X digital zoom, though it's unusable at the highest resolution. And if you're ever lost in the dark, the flash provides a meager amount of light. The video camera records clips in one resolution (176x144) with sound and at 15 frames per second. The flash and the zoom are usable here too, and you can adjust the brightness and white balance. Clips are limited to a short 15 seconds. Once you're done with your work, you can save it to the 6315i's internal memory--it comes with 21.5MB of shared space--but you're better off using a Micro SD card. Despite being somewhat blurry, photo quality was average for a 1.3-megapixel camera. Colors were fine, but objects were a bit fuzzy.

This phone has excellent battery life, gets great reception and is easy to use. My only disappointment is that the keys are sort of small for my large fingers.
I like the external music buttons and the camera takes nice pics.

I had this phone for about 5 months before I decided to replace it. The main problem I had was the alarm clock feature wouldn't work in vibrate mode when the phone was plugged into the charger. I contacted verizon about a possible software update, but they said there was nothing available.

I also didn't like the layout of the direction/ok pad. I often hit the ok button by accident when I was using the directions. The number buttons were also a source of inconvenience. They are too flat and hard to use.

I am currently using a LG VX8300 and am much more satisfied with all of the features.

  Verizon 6315i (Nokia)
Review created: 08/06/08

I chose it because I thoroughly enjoyed Cingular's Nokia 6126. I'd planned to use it or give it to my son when he joined the family plan. At present, I've gone through its functions without activating it. I'm still waiting on him. I'm pleased with it, but I can't comment on it fully without having used it in service. If or when it's activated, I'm sure it will fully meet our expectations.

  Minimal USB Connectivity Support
Review created: 12/10/07

I work in the mobile industry and purchased this phone for testing purposes. USB support ended up being nearly non-existent so I was unable to use the phone as intended.
The device itself is unimpressive but fine.

  Cant beat the price
Review created: 10/18/07

Pros:
-pretty thin
-unique camera with flash and 1.3 megapixel camera
-video recording
-music plater
-3G phone
-Vcast services
-Durable
-Crisp feeling keypad

Cons:
-flimsy extending antenna
-somewhat plain design
-verizon's dull menu
-no sending files over bluetooth
-cdma coverage not gsm

this phone is really an amazing value. $29.99 with a new contract and you get all the same features all of verizon's phones. the upside is that it is a nokia and we all know that every teen who's first phone was a nokia had to try real hard to break their nokia and they never break. another plus is it does have a 2.5mm headset jack and many new phones out today especially motorola, samsung, and lg. although it has bluetooth a wired headset is always a good backup when the headset dies. the verizon menu is so boring. and plain lg phones all have special menus the other phones do not have but it would be nice if we could switch it up a little bit cause it's the same red and rainbow menu...

  Nice phone!
Review created: 09/09/07

This phone is an mp3 player also. Its so much easier to use this at the gym instead of carrying around a phone and an mp3 player. It stores all my songs and is easy to use. When the phone rings and you are using the mp3 player it shuts off the music and rings, however, then after you are done with the phone call you do have to restart the music. That is the only flaw about the phone. Other then that it is a really nice phone, easy to use and convenient.
