This is a fun game for the sega. The start of a great 3 game series. This game does get old after a little bit but only takes an hour or 2 to beat. It has great replay value and because of that i have always owned a copy or 2 of this game. It is also a great game to pick up and play with friends still to this day. I would grade it a 9/10

  Just A Fun Street Brawler

This game has always been an entertaining game. Just good old fashion brawling. The game does tend to get boring after a little while, because all you're really doing is beating up people on the street. But the early 90s styled characters and sound effects keep you wanting to play more and more.

Came with box and instructions, Item was at a good price and shipped fast. The game sometimes will not move to the right or down. It does this from start up. I have tinker with it to get it to work.

I love this game because it's a great two player fighting game. The storyline is great and it has 8 challenging levels. It's a simple fighting game that will never bore you. I love it, why don't you give it a try... :)

  Sega Genesis's Streets of Rage
Review created: 07/10/07

"Streets of Rage" is a classic run, punch, and kick type of game with the sounds and music that make Sega what it is. Crisp action and that help from a distance police cannon helps alot. Can be one or two players cooperatively for additional fun, the action never stops. The bosses can be difficult, but with a clear head you can figure out the patterns. This is a classic game and a great addition to anyone that has a Sega Genesis library.

Streets of Rage: - Take a Stroll Down Tame Avenue
Review created: 05/12/08

Pros:
Decent Graphics and Soundtrack, Co-op

Cons:
Bad Animation, Quite Generic and Bland, Sloppy Gameplay

When Capcom announced that the ever popular Final Fight would be released on the Super Nintendo console Sega needed an answer for their own Genesis system. They set out to make a game better than Final Fight, and luckily for them the fans clamored to it. The game came to be known as Streets of Rage. The good news is that Sega's beat 'em up lives up to the SNES version of Final Fight. The bad news? That's really not saying much, at all. A criminal syndicate lead by a mysterious man named Mr. X has taken control of the entire nameless city in which the game is based. Three rogue police officers.

Pros:
Gameplay,Innovative desperation move, nice enemies, great music

Cons:
sprites a little small, Streets of Rage 2 improves on it in most ways

One of the most famous Megadrive/Genesis titles, Streets of Rage was one third of the immortal Mega Games 2 compilation that came with many a Sega during the console's heyday. As much as a response to Capcom's Final Fight as anything else, Streets of Rage is a Beat 'em Up in the same vein as Capcom's legendary scrapper and Tradewest's Double Dragon. You choose one of three characters, all with varying strengths and weaknesses, and fight your way through 8 stages worth of thugs, ending each stage with a showdown with a boss character. Naturally the game included a 2-Player Co-Op mode, which...

Pros:
Highly addictive in 2 player mode. Nice music.

Cons:
Can be a a tad repetitive at times

Alongside the Sega's Sonic series, the Streets of Rage trilogy was among the most talked about games during its time. It was a period in video gaming history known for its arcade conversions, side scrolling beat-em ups

Pros:

Cons:
don't eat beef

(This review is part of ss3goku's Pie writeoff. Visit his page for details of the other people in it...) I'm not on the same bandwagon as many with SoR. A lot of people would claim this the best beat em up ever, yet I found Maximum Carnage, the criminally underrated SNES game based on Spderman Unlimited 1-4, to be the best. But this is still very easily a five star game. Here's my review. Streets of Rage stars Axel, Blaze and Adam, three cops in a city overrun by chaos. You choose either three to go at the 8 levels with, each with their own "cop car" special attack. Adam is a slower but more..

Streets of Rage fights on in the Wii's VC.
Review created: 04/25/07
by: tommy_lop -- a member of Epinions

Pros:
a solid brawler and it is better then the final fight port

Cons:
the graphics are a bit ugly

I downloaded Streets of Rage a month ago and have played it when I was looking for a good brawler. Streets of Rage is basically Sega s rip off of Capcoms Final Fight, and while I have the Final Fight arcade game in my Capcom classic collection and can say final fight is the better game. If half of what I hear Final Fight is on the SNES is true with only 1 player and only 2 out of 3 characters chosen then Streets of Rage wins. Well anyways I ll discuss more in the review. Story. Basically a crime organization has taken over the city and now 3 rouge cops are out to do something about it by...
