I have never played an MMORPG (Massive Multiplayer Online Role Playing Game) except for Knight Online but I like the graphics a lot and how there are NO MONTHLY FEES unlike WoW (World of Warcraft). There are many types of characters in the game including the new Assassin and Ritulist. If you like joining a guild and playing with friends online this would be a very good game. The Quests and missions are fun also and it takes along time to beat. I enjoyed this game more than Guild Wars and Guild Wars Nightfall.

This is the first Guild Wars game I ever played even though it's the second release in the series. It can be played as a stand-alone game; the other two expansions are not required, although if you want to be able to explore the whole Guild Wars world you need all three. The game is very detailed and is a lot of fun. There are many, many hours of gameplay here and it's a lot of fun to interact with other players from around the world. It's a very challenging game as well, particularly in the combat system. It takes some time to get used to, but it's very satisfying to find a set of skills for your character which work well together. If you buy this game, I highly recommend that you visit the Guild Wars website and look under the Community section for links to fansites... there's a site called Guildwiki that is invaluable for any player, particularly a beginner. You can find out anything you need to know about playing the game from this site. Oh, yeah, and the best thing about this game is that there is no monthly charge to play it like with other online games. Once you buy the game, it's absolutely free to play from then on. I love the game and recommend it to anyone who likes a good fantasy role-playing experience.

Several improvements since Guild Wars.
Addition of available characters is interesting.
Should have started "NEW" characters in Pre-Searing as did factions because it has lost conectivity with original story line.

I liked, because it completes profecies but...4 of 5 people found this review helpful.
Guild Wars Profecies, is an almost complete game by itself. I find factions, with a few complications, and not as good as profecies. I wish they had done something similar to profecies, where as you progress in the game the level of enemies also increases. But by the time you get to the mainland everyone has to be lvl 20, and with most of skills. I do not find it as good as profecies. If you do not have guild wars, buy profecies first then get factions. To get an Idea... It took me about 800 hours to get to the end of profecies, and complete everything there was to it. And about 200 hours of playtime in factions. Currently I have 1400 hours of playtime, that tells you how much I like this game. It is way better than playing most video consoles games. And there is no CD that might get scracthed.

there is nothing special about this game. when you are playing it for the first time it is a lot of fun, once you reach the max level, level 20 thats it the game loses all it had going for it. the missions get boring even playing with the different guilds gets lame. the good thing that this game has going for it is the special events. they have these every so offten and they are fun no matter what level you are because it brings everyone together to try and complete the quests. but over all it is just ok i dont totally recomend this game.

Since I am an avid WoW player, a good friend recommended this game. I took a chance and bought it. I have to say I was not disappointed.. The graphics are awesome. Hours of fun! I highly recommend this game.

If you're into MMORPGs but don't want to pay monthly, this is the game for you. Hours and hours of gameplay is included in each expansion, and you can link the accounts together and travel between the different continents from each expansion. Not only is there plenty of game for role playing, there is the one of a kind PvP built into each game. The ultimate goal of this game is not necessarily to get to the highest level, but to "build" your character with select skills that can be earned through quests, bought from skill merchants (or trainers), or captured from "boss" monsters in the game. The top MMORPG to compare this game with would be WoW: in Guild Wars, you cannot camp a spawn point for bosses; however, getting a party together if you are not trying to do a mission is unlikely if not impossible unless you are low level. Whereas is WoW, it seems to be more oriented for parties of PCs. Overall, I give Guild Wars 9 out of 10, but only because the tendancy for players to not party up. Hours and hours (and hours and hours) of fun.

This has been a great game to play. My son has enjoyed hours of fun with it. Best of all no online fees to pay. I have even made a few characters and play when I can. Haven't joined any guild as yet.

This game got addicting at first but once you get lvl 20 (which is the max lvl) it gets super boring. After that all you do is missions which all go the same way and put you to sleep. Another thing i didnt like was that you HAVE to party up with people when you fight in the high level areas or else you will just get owned so no farming solo :-( SO factions is basically the same as Guild Wars except with 2 new characters and new skills and some other minor things and thats it. i would recommend playing this game over a friends house or something before buying it.

I love the leveling compared to prophecies, I leveled a lot faster in onehour than I did with prophecies. Adding this expansion gave me an extra storage slot and added two rockin new professions!

Overall the whole Guild Wars experience is wonderful. I love the game, and the storylines, and the optional work. The PvP is good too, but not my cup of tea.
Factions is probably the my least favorite storyline, but it is enjoyable enough to play.
Love Guild Wars, glad to have Factions. I stronly recommend this franchise to others.

If you are looking for a casual MMO Guild Wars is it. Sometimes it can get addicting but the missions are long enough to stop after 30 minutes and works out well if you have a social life. I recommend all of the Guild Wars titles.

As good if not better than World Of Warcraft online, and I played their 14 day free trial "Wrath of the Lich King".

I love how the more Guild Wars games you have, the more fun you seem to be able to have. It is also nice to have a MMORPG that you do not have to pay for, but it still gets regular updates and festive events. If you like a slower paced game, dislike level grinding, or just simply want to enjoy the Player VS Player aspect of the MMORPG genre, then Guild Wars is the game for you!

Guild Wars Factions is a great continuation of the series though there are some minor set backs. My probably only complaint about the game is that you can level up way too fast. Max level is 20 and you can probably get there before you get off the first island. Other than that Guild wars is a great MMORPG that adds 2 new professions and tons of new skills for your old or new characters. Highly recommend buying this game if you have played the original Guild Wars.

I purchased Guild Wars. It came used as I expected but when I loaded the software and attempted to use the code to register, it was already in use, and the game could not be played. I contacted the seller and received no response. I was ripped off.

Alot Smaller than Prophcies, Prophcies is like 3-5 times bigger than FActions, but on Factions you lvl up fast and get through the game quicker, unlike prophcies where you take a while to lvl up, and beat the game, in my opinion Prophceis is better than Factions, But also Factions has better looking weapons, and The Assassin is a good chracter, but the Ritualists sorta takes a while to understand and be good at.
