Patton Blu ray - New life for an enduring classic!
I have spent over thirty years watching "Patton". I first saw the film in 1970 in a large theater projected on a 100 foot screen, and the Dimension 150 process ( a 70mm film process)was stunning. This is both a great war and anti-war film, and George C. Scott's performance was mesmerizing. I had to own a personal copy. First came VHS. Still the great film, but the lack of resolution was like a haze. Then came DVD, now greatly improved in picture and sound quality. Finally, there is Blu-ray. In the opening sequence, you can see every bit of detail in the uniform, the engraved ivory-handled pistols, the medals; bringing back the intensity of the film, along with great sound, finally doing this film justice. Only thing missing is the giant screen. This is a classic film, worthy of being the cornerstone of a Blu ray collection!
