The Rapture by Jerry B. Jenkins (2006, Hardcover)

What struck me most is how the people in the book, even those who new the Rapture had occurred, were running around looking for loved ones and friends who had not been taken and we saying things like "I so glad you're ok." If the Rapture occurred and I WASN'T gone (though I WILL) I'd be on my face begging GOD to forgive me and rejoicing my family and friends had gone on. This book also got me to thinking more about how you can't just be saved and then sit around for the Rapture to occur, you must get out and DO. At times I have been WAY involved in church and on every committee and group, but since I've developed Fibromyalgia I have not been as active. As a result of this book and prayer i;m going to start out slow and I know God will bless me and give me the energy and blunt the pain so I can do more and more for him. I will also quit whining that I can't do the things I use to do and focus on what I can do - EVERYONE can pray. I try to pray for each and every person who I encounter each day - I don't get everybody, but I try. It is the one thing I can do - I know I am not a good witness, I am shy and have a hard time talking to people that I know - but I have made sure my family has professed Jesus as their savior and it's something everyone can do. I pray in the car (after praying that I don't get in a wreck!) and you can too. Instead of getting mad at the person ahead of you - pray for them. You don't need to know their name, GOD does. I want plenty of gold and jewels and very little chaff when Jesus measures my life with fire, to lay these crowns at HIS feet. Another thing this book did for me is to help heal the wounds my father left and to make me glad that he had a deathbed confession and I will be HAPPY to see him in heaven, no matter what he did here on earth. I also found this to be very biblically oriented and spotted the Antichrist before he even did one "wrong" thing. I know y'all laugh, but I used to think Elvis would be the Antichrist - ok, now that you have stopped laughing...this has been less of a review and more of a testimony. Pray for me and I am praying now for each person who reads this review to receive a special blessing and be motivated to read the book and the series.
