Sasquatch Excellent- Asian sellers are frauds

This is the best driver I have ever had. I have played about 60 rounds with my 9.5 graphite SQ and I love it. Added 20 yards to my callaway driver.
For all the guys that have been defrauded, and those considering a purchase, please, PLEASE, listen to an experienced ebayer.
DO NOT buy anything on ebay from a seller with nominal feedback. Always check their feedback history. The asian frauds usually have 10- 15 very recent feedbacks from their friends for 50 cent items to make it look good and legit- until you check.
Always buy American if you can, and from a seller with a good amount of positive feedback ( I usually look for 100+ sales) they don't want any negative feedback, so they will take care of you.
This is 7 years on ebay talking here...

I can't say enough about this club. It's very light compared to other drivers of its size. I've always had a huge problem with a slice but this club has all but eliminated that problem and has put my drives from 250 up to 275 plus. Outstanding construction and a great price to boot. You won't regret getting one of these.

How to detect and avoid a fake Nike SasQuatch Driver
Review created: 11/14/08
27 of 27 people found this review helpful.

If you hate the scams and fraud on Ebay like I do please give a ''Yes'' vote to this review at the bottom of the page. Your vote will help others to see this guide and avoid getting ripped off.

I found several "Buy Now" deals for as little as $250.00. There were even people selling heads only for less than $200.00.

Most if not all of the auctions with heads only were from China or Hong Kong. The sellers had a mixture of feedback with 1 or 2 out of 10 negative due to fake driver. The sellers usually do not have a great number of feedbacks.

The selling method has changed somewhat lately with the fakes being sold by users registered in the USA but still heads only. The other problem now is there have been hundreds if not thousands of fake drivers sold to USA buyers. These buyers are now selling the fakes once they find out. Here is a list of what to look for and how to avoid being sold a fake.

1. Avoid auctions from China and Hong Kong.
2. Avoid any auction for driver head only.
3. Check sellers other items for sale. If they are selling only Nike drivers avoid this seller.
4. Ask seller to provide the serial number. If they do not respond avoid the seller. If they provide a serial number you can email Nike customer service and ask if the serial number is legit. Also ask if the serial number has been registered already.
5. Don't be fooled by pictures. The pictures on a fraud auction will not be the driver they are sending.
6. Avoid sellers that are new to Ebay or have really less than 100 + feedbacks selling golf equipment.
7. Avoid any auction for a driver listed in a non golf category. They use this tactic to avoid Ebay dumping the auction.
8. Avoid any 1 day auction with a "Buy Now".

A few of ways to detect the fakes are:

1. The composite top is actually not composite at all. It is paint in a weave pattern to look like a carbon fiber top.
2. No serial number on the hosel.
3. Thin spray painted finish instead of powder coated.

I avoided a fake Driver from a USA seller when I asked for the serial number. I had already won the auction. The seller sent me an email after the auction claiming the driver was damaged. I am sure it was someone trying to unload the mistake on me. Hopefully this may help someone from buying a fake driver as well.

  SASQUATCH - eye pleasing

Great feel, somewhat forgiving on offcenter hits, but really tough to look at at address. Appearance tends to overstate the size fo the driver- kind of an optical illusion. Rated 4 out of 5 because the TOUR version (which Tiger is using) that is due out in April is much more pleasing to the eye.

I purchased a sasquatch driver non conforming that was listed on ebay.
Only minutes after I had paid for this item I was notified that ebay was
taking it off of ebay. I received this item 10 days later to find it was not a real sasquatch but something made in China. It is a piece of junk. I have notified ebay and paypal with no results. ebay should screen these item before listing them for auction. I think ebay should help me get my money back for this junk.

First, Ebay voided this transaction shortly after I paid for item using Paypal as the method of payment, Paypal was notified imediately thereafter and I was advised to initiate the Dispute Resolution Process, which I did. Seller advised that club had been shipped and furnished a tracking number I was unable to verify. Two weeks later, I received a knock off Nike Ignite driver. Hence, I was defrauded by the seller and unable to provide any information whatsoever about the Nike Sasquatch SQ+ driver I paid for.

I'm 55 years old. I took up Golf last year and shoot in the high 60's. Frankly, my putting could improve. I was getting about 340 yards carry with a borrowed 3-wood that my mother used in the 1950's. I was playing a round with Donald Trump when he suggested that I get a Diver to improve my game. I said to the Donald,

"OK...I'll lend you that $950 mil for your new Casino...but you throw in a Nike Sasquatch and your Lear Jet."

What could he do? He was short for cash and needed the loan.I like the Driver. Hate the plane. Getting about 380 yards carry into the wind. Although sometimes they tend to be 5 or 6 yards left or right of target. Maybe it's my grip? I swing only swing with one arm as I lost one spear-fishing Great Whites off Dangerous Reef in Southern Austrailia in '83.

My biggest problem in finding harder courses. I get bored playing from the Blacks. Usually, I just T up from the Parking Lot and play each hole from there. My Bently has cool sound system and I like to listen to Inagadavida while playing.

  r7 460 driver fraud
Review created: 09/05/07

6 of 8 people found this review helpful.

I purchased a r7 460 driver last year in 2006. I open up the package and found out it was a fake driver. The person that I purchased the club off of used an old account to transfer money to his paypal. I then proceeded to ask paypal and ebay to help get a refund. Numerous attempts where made but I was final told to go to the police. DO YOU REALLY THINK THAT THE US OR CANADIAN POLICE ARE GOING TO GO TO JAPAN.

So that said...you guys will read this message and like usual you will just sweep this under the rug. I wish this message would go to the CEO of ebay. I have finally found a news paper reporter that is going to do a front page write up about the fraudulent activities that are going on at ebay.

Just look at the activities of my account and you will notice that I don't use it as often any more. Why should I when it's so easy to get ripped off.

This letter will find the bottom of a waist paper basket.

I have always used a 3 wood to tee off with do to my slice. The course I play requires a little more distance off the tee then I get. (Blind shots) So after reading many reviews on different drivers, I decided on the sasquatch. I have an average swing so I went with the reg flex and 9.5 deg. With out going to the driving range first like I knew I should, I hit the course with my golfing partner. I might add it took all of about 2 seconds for him to notice the big yellow head cover in my bag. 3rd hole was wide open so I decided its time to see what happens. Addressing the ball was almost comical compared to my 3 wood. Took a couple of practice swings and felt very comfortable. After borrowing a longer tee I took a very easy and controlled swing and drove it as if I used my 3 wood. First shot was straight and felt really solid. I was very satisfied with the distance especially knowing my swing speed was not that fast. I didn`t have to say a word cause my partner said it all for me. As the round continued I felt more and more comfortable with the sasquatch and picked up my speed. I achieved what I was looking for and enjoyed the round better then I have in a longt time. Would I reccomend it? Oh yes. Now I can`t wait to get out and hit it some more.
Hope this helps in your decision.
Sorry for the short story.

So I read all the hype and decided to visit the local pro shop to demo one of these babies on the range side by side with my Taylor Made R580XD.

Yes, it IS LONGER than my XD, but only on center face & square head shots. Off center shots were WAY off-line and MUCH shorter than the XD. To be honest, I pure maybe 2 drives during an average round (I'm a 12 index) so I prefer a bit more forgiveness than I found in the Sasquatch. Fades became slices and draws became hooks.

I found that the ball flies higher than the stamped loft would suggest - probably the lower and deeper CG thing. So if you're thinking about one you might want to consider going down 1 or 2 degrees from your current loft.

I also found the shaft to be pretty rigid. I've always played a stiff shaft, but this stiff shaft was REALLY STIFF (think Grafalloy Blue or Adilia NV stiff). So unless you like swinging with a telephone pole, I suggest you go down a flex from what you normally play.

I'm sure that many people love their Sasquatch, but it's not the driver for me. I strongly suggest that you demo one on a real range (not an indoor net)before buying.

  Nike SQ 10.5 Diamana Redboard
Review created: 10/14/08(updated 10/15/08)
by:
4 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I have hit many clubs over the last few years including a lot of the new bigger and better drivers. Every year I end up coming back to my old Nike SQ Driver. For some reason I tend to hit this club better than most. It has a lot of pop and is easy to work even with the large 460cc head. It does not set up as closed as most of the game improvement clubs (i.e. Taylormade, Callaway, Cobra). This club works great for any skill level and Nike has yet to come out with a club that can match the performance. Like most people I like to tinker and try to find a club that will give me a few extra yards. Believe me my buddies let me know it. I still enjoy taking all of their money with this gem.

I also try to keep everything in perspective. I was fitted with this club where I was not with several of the other drivers I have used outside my Cobra L4V. As always I recommend anyone to get fitted because it only takes a few minutes of your time and makes a world of difference on the course. The stock Nike shaft with this club was very weak for my swing. I was orginally going to opt for the Aldila Proto or the Diamana Blueboard. After the fitter looked at my swing and the amount of torque he fitted me with the Diamana Redboard in a stiff flex. I could have went with either of the other two shafts in an X-stiff but I wanted to maintain some flex to work the ball.

The bottomline is this is a great club especially when you can get it for around $100 on eBay. If any of you follow golf there has to be a reason this club is still used by Tiger Woods. I assume the number #1 player in the world would have switched by now if Nike had offered a better club.

I got my sasquatch as an investment since golf digest had rated them so highly. The club was in even better shape than described by the seller and I couldn't wait...I tee'd up immediately in the yard (rural acreage) and I swear I smacked it into the next county!! It was so loud too...Man!!! I couldn't stop laughing with joy for 10 minutes..this thing is awesome and has added at LEAST 20 yards to my drive. You should have seen the envy at the driving range, not to mention the crowd of admirers that gathered in the club house It is all true, everything I have read and heard about this club....you almost CANT'T hit it wrong! Oh yessss! It is BIG, but it is light and I love it....mine is a 10.5 with the regular flex diamana shaft...men's club and I am a 5' 4" woman, so a big strong dude may want to go with a stiff flex...try to find one to hit before you buy. My husband and golf teacher now have driver envy, and I had to get a stealth head cover so no one would suspect what is in my bag heh heh heh! One word of warning about the copies....look at reviews, check the old sale histories....even call some of the sellers with phone #'s. There are some really good reputable sellers out there doing all of us a great service and they want to sell you quality items you can enjoy.

  Nike SasQuatch Driver
Review created: 12/28/06
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

I'm 51 years old and a 6 handicap, but have lost some distance over the years. Since I got my SQ driver, I'm hitting the ball farther, and straighter than ever. It took me a while to even try the club because it looked a bit strange to me. However, after finally trying one, I was in awe of it's ease to hit straight and long. This driver has the ability to make the ball go high, and then hit the ground running. I've noticed that I get much more roll out with it also. I'm using the 10.5* with a regular flex Diamana shaft. Give it a try, you'll love it.

This club delivers for those that have a "flat" swing or have problems launching the ball off the tee. I am a high handicapper, but this club has shaved 10 stokes from my game. It delivers the mass and size of a standard driver but gives the control of a 3 or 5 wood. Very forgiving.

  It's just fun
Review created: 07/24/06
by:
4 of 5 people found this review helpful.

This club might just be for the mid- to high-handicappers, but that's most of us, right? I agree with the other reviewers--it is difficult to say enough about this club. Leaving the looks aside (to me, function trumps form every time), the bottom line is that this club will do a better job setting up your second shot than most (if not all) of the other clubs out there. If you swing it even halfway decently, the clubface will square every time and you will be in a position to hit a mid or short iron on an average par 4. If you swing it well, you will be so much farther down the fairway that your home course will suddenly become an entirely different experience. Having a club like this in your bag, and knowing what it *can* do for the average golfer could spark your interest enough to get you out on the range, practicing to become a good golfer. It's that much fun.

One other problem you might have--after working with this club for a while, you might find yourself with a 50-80 yard gap in your bag between your driver and the next club. Not to fear, the SQ 3wood seems to have the same qualities as the driver. In fact, if more accuracy is all you want, you could just get a SQ 3wood and dispose of your current driver, and throw 230-250 yard darts out in the middle of the fairway every time.

Go get one.

(p.s., to get the headcover off without giving yourself a hernia, slide the cover forward (don't pull it off) until the top of the club is in the sock. Then pull off. Easy as pie.)

I love the size of the sweetspot. Very forgiving. If I mishit one way, the ball seems to pull itself to center -- like magic. The balls seem to hold its launch angle and with alot of roll. One negative - the shaft is a little whippy. It is a Diamana. The reason for this is because the angle between the top of the head and the shaft form an angle that is less than most other drivers. To get the head square at impact, it must bend more than other drivers. Doing this also increases forgivness and most of all distance. It is quite a top notch driver and I really dont know how nike or anybody else for that matter improve by much on this driver. The price range for this club on eBay should be around 180 to 220 dollars. You can find cheaper, but don't expect to buy new with headcover. (stores do not usually sell headcovers for the SasQuatch seperatly so you should try to buy WITH headcover. If not, there are auctions on Ebay for just that) This driver will probably stay with you for a very long time and most likely not be outdated by very much.

  Nike SQ+ Fraud
Review created: 11/03/06

3 of 4 people found this review helpful.

I was also ripped off from an Ebayer from China who not only used someone else's account, but sent me a Nike SQ knockoff-not worth $50- with a swing weight of E1. I tried to get my $193 back from EBAY for allowing this fraudulent advertising showing a different picture of what was sent, but I was told that since I received the item (the item not as pictured or advertised) that any refund was disallowed. Also, I was told that I should contact the seller-located in China- which I did 5 times with no response. The return address on the clone club was in Chinese which was impossible to interpret.
So beware of any Nike SQ+ clubs which are not covered from Nike, US. I had another authenticated club and the face caved in on me after 4 rounds and 3 buckets of balls.

I like this new SQ Driver not just because Tiger likes it, but because I tried it before I bought it, thru a friend that owned one. Great feel, light weight, for the 460cc size head. The standard Nike graphite shaft is pritty awsome, the unique head design gives excellent ball flight . I have no dislikes about this Driver at all, am very content with it's overall performance, great club just love it!!!!!!!!!!

  Fantastic Club
Review created: 10/03/06
3 of 3 people found this review helpful.

I like the entire club including the shaft tailored for me- it's an Aldila 75 NVS which is low torque (for swings appx. 100 - 110 mph), medium weight, high kick, stiff flex and stiff tips. Went to a Nike Demo Day and they spec'd it out for me after hitting balls. Not a full blown analysis, but I hit maybe 20 balls.

So a key is having the right shaft as well as the great head. It's a regular (not the tour model) 8.5 degree.

The Demo Day guy also adjusted my stance (aligned right actually to offset my slicing tendencies) and said to tee it up high (switched to the 3 1/4 inch tees and they make a difference.) I still tee the ball to the left of my foot and the Demo Day guy and some golf store guys actually said that was fine, given my swing.

Only thing I don't like is the head cover which looks nice but is hard coming off or going on.

In the end, my ball goes 15 - 20 yards farther on average than my old Callaway VFT and fades less. Note that when I swing/set-up badly, then it still slices badly; no club can fix that. But in general, it is more powerful and more forgiving.

It's also simply a fun club to hit.
