Toy Story 2 (DVD, 2005, Special Edition)

For those who missed out on the earlier two dvd releases of "toy story 2" have a reason to cheer now! Their patience seems to have paid off. Thanks to buena vista, All new special edition of pixar's superbly crafted, highly entertaining masterpiece will be available on dec26.

This being the first ever two disc release of the film, most of the special features available on the toy box and the single disc release will be here. Of course, there'll be quite a few new features as well alongwith a DTS track, a pixar dvd first(also available on the recently released 2 disc set of toy story 1 dvd).

As usual, first disc will contain the main feature which has been digitally remastered using higher bitrate with picture direct from pixar's digital source. Two audio tracks will be available on the disc, dolby digital 5.1 EX and DTS 5.1 ES. There will also be a commentary track for the enthusiast, featuring John Lasseter and his creative team including Lee Unkrich, Ash Brannon and Andrew Stanton. Sneak peak of pixar's highly anticipated film "cars" will be the only other feature on this disc.

This was a great sequel. It doesn't happen very often when sequels are as good as the first movie. But this one takes the cake. My children and I loved it.

Woody is captured by a greedy old man wanting to sell him for lots of money. Buzz Lightyear and the gang try to find Woody and bring him home before he is taken out of the country, never to be seen again.

Great movie for all ages.

The second release of Toy Story 2 movie on DVD. The movie is as good as the first one. If your kid(s) liked the first one, he/she/they will be excited to see the second part of it. With the second disc with bunch of extra special features, it make it more valuable. Add it in your collection for the new comers.

The story opens with Woody accidentally stuck in a yard sale and stolen by a greedy and evil toy collector. Buzz and the toys embark on a perilous journey to save their friend, while Woody discovers that he's actually a valuable toy. It turns out that he's based on an old 50s television show called Woody's Roundup, and along with his faithful horse Bullseye, cowgirl Jessie and a crotchety old prospector named Stinky Pete, he's being sold to a toy museum in Japan. Woody is faced with a tough choice: Does he become a toy that will be immortal but never played with, or does he go back to being a child's toy, where he'll eventually be outgrown?
this is an amazing movie just to look at. It took the filmmakers at Pixar over four years to finish this film, and it really does show. Every frame has something going on in the background (this is a movie that begs for repeat viewings) so that it's impossible to get bored on a visual level. And even though the first film was only released five years ago, there have been incredible advancements in the field of computer animation. Where the humans looked sketchy (at best) in the first one, they are now incredibly lifelike - particularly Al, the evil toy collector. He looks almost human, and if you've seen the first film, you know that's an amazing feat in itself.
The real shame with a movie like Toy Story 2 is that there will always be folks who insist that it's been designed to appeal solely to kids. But that's simply not the case, as the film is far more engaging and moving than most live-action pictures.

Good Sequel...but I still like the first film better!!

The characters are just as funny, the story line is fine, and this film definitely belongs in your Pixar/Disney film library!

Plus this DVD has a lot of additional extras that make it worth owning!

Terrific story telling as only Pixar can do. You fall in love with these characters who represent so many fond memories from our childhood. Also if you loved the first Toy Story you will be pleasantly surprised by the sequals ability to capture your heart as well. Kids will love the characters and toys while adults will appreciate the humor and animation. The perfect family film at home or in the car.

This sequel does not disappoint. It is equally as good as toy story in every way. Great new toy characters are added that you will love and of course a new evil villan, that you will hate more than sid.

Woody, Buzz and the gang return for a second go at Toy Story. This one introduces new characters and is as fun as the first one. The people behind these stories and animation have done some amazing work here. A lot of fun for the whole family.

It was a copy of the original disk. I thought it was a brand new original copy. But it does work well.

The movie was good it kept my son entertained. One of the best parts of the movie was the two buzzes in the toy ile. That was the one my son favored the most.

Good movie! I thought it was very funny and its a movie you can watch with the whole family. I highly reccomend it!

I ordered this as a Christmas gift to my nieces, they absolutely love Toy Story, they watch it all the time and have parts of the lines in the movie memorized! I have heard good things about the sequel, but I have not personally watched it. One day I will have to sit down and watch this with them, since they know much more than I do about movies!

My 3yr old loves everything about this DVD..The quality is great...and the extra features are wonderful

I never received the DVD. I paid for it through Pay Pal and it never came. I emailed the seller and didn't receive any response from them. I guess I am just out $20.00.

This is such a GREAT movie for children. The is definetly a time when the 2nd movie was better than the 1st. My child has been watching this movie since he was 2, he is now 9 and it is still his favorite. he is looking forward to June of this year when the 3rd movie is released.

This is most definitely a copied DVD. I thought I was getting an original brand new copy. How does Disney feel about this?
