Christmas in Connecticut (DVD, 2005)

There was a scene missing in the movie. I also thought it was going to be in color. It also took much longer than I thought it should have to receive the movie.

This was a great transaction. Everything went smoothly. The DVD arrived quickly and was in great condition. I would purchase from this vendor again.

This was the specific item I was looking for as a Christmas gift. Shipping was reasonable and the item arrived in good condition.

Wonderful Black and White film.Barbara Stanwyck is quite a commediene.If you enjoy old films this is a great Classic Christmas Film that doesn't get its share of attention.ENJOY!

Enjoyed very much. There is just something special the way they made movies in the 30's, 40's 50's. The garbage they make today is not worth the money to go an see.

I purchased the movie for my daughter - it is one of her favorites! My two daughters and I watch it every Christmas and enjoy it more every year - now we will have it on DVD and won't have to wait for tv to schedule it!!

This entertaining look at the mad workings of a fashion magazine writer and her attempts to portray herself as a "do all" homemaking beats anything hollywood is producing today. With great actors and charactor you feel you know it is a holiday delight. Get a copy and see for yourself. I love it and am so glad I was able to find one of these hard to find classics on E-bay!

This movie was bought as a gift for my mother.It is a real classic.And she has always liked this movie.

This is an old fashion good humor movie. The characters make you fall in love with them. This is a real feel good movie. Watch it you won't be sorry.

Much better than its remake (what else is new..). However, don't buy it from Odd Banana unless you want to get ripped off.

Saw this movie on TV and had to have it for my collection. Not so much about Christmas as the relationships and the "mad cap antics" of the people brought together to celebrate. Barbara Stanwyck is fantastic as are the others.
If you like old movies this is one to have.

Christmas in Connecticut is a great movie that is fun to watch. It is funny and lets you be entertained. It is a great family movie that isn't trying to be realistic, but just enjoyable.

Actually I ordered "Christmas In Connecticut" DVD two times. The first was on November 22, I believe from Videobarn (I have since deleted the "awards" letter since I got such poor service). It never came. The seller aggreed to send it in 10-12 business days. It never came. The seller was to look into the matter and either resend a new copy of it or refund my Paypal purchase price...Neither happened. Since then they have left emails unanswered. My time was more valuable than the price of a single DVD so I gave up and I guess the seller just made off with the money. I wonder how many other times he has done this to others.

I then ordered the "Christmas In Connecticut" DVD again from Amazon and amd used a different seller. It came within a few days. The video was in great shape and I encountered no problems. As with most purchases on Amazon, we are quite satisfied and get exempliary service.

If I am responding to the order placed in December then the ratting should be 5/5.

Christmas In Connecticut is one one of the All-Time Great Christmas Movies. It is my Mother-In Laws Favorite and one of my wife's favorites. Great for the Whole Family to watch. It ranks right up there with It's A Wonderful Life !!!!

Filmed in stunning black & white, this comedy of charades is a Christmas classic that is enjoyable from start to finish. No special effects - no high adventure in some distant land - simply a great love story that's just naughty enough for the baby boomers to thoroughly enjoy along with the kids that can tolerate black & white photography. Barbara Stanwick never looked better and she is surrounded by a great cast of character actors. This is one that you will want to see every year at Christmas....reminiscent of Christmases past.

A great oldie! Well done, clever and funny! I have loved this movie for years and got tired of never finding it on tv during the Christmas season so I decided to buy it. So glad I did - I got to enjoy it several times this past Christmas season.

I've always wanted this movie, just never got around to getting it. I love old movies, especially Christmas ones.

The movie is a true classic (and more so than most holiday movies, you never tire of seeing "Christmas in Connecticut" replayed each December).
As to the purchase experience: the DVD was perfect, price was excellent & seller was extremely quick - couldn't have been better.

Christmas in Connecticut w/Barbara Stanwick is a great not-about-the-holiday, holiday movie. If you love old movies, want a break from the "holly-jolly" kids movies and like light comedies... pick this one up. You won't be disappointed.

A great holiday classic it's about Barbara Stanwyck who is a Martha Stewart type that writes a cooking column but she doesn't now how to cook only with the help of her friend who owns a restaurant, but everything turns sour when the publisher of the magazine wants to spend Christmas with her pretend family and a sailor who survived his sinking ship for dinner and she starts to fall in love with him and the situation back fires. It's funny and great family fun.
