The 48 Laws of Power by Joost Elffers, Robert Greene (1998, Hardcover)

So many lessons to learn from this book. I have applied it to my profession and have increased much of my personal goals. It has given me guidance on how to succeed quickly and wisely without damaging my reputation or stature. It has given me guidance on a slow methodical approach to achieve vindication against those who are in my way. I have used it against my adversaries and it has gained me the upper hand on most occassions. I have used tactics towards my competitor and I have gained higher ground. In layman's terms: It's a very powerful book that can get you in trouble if not used with caution. It was recommended to me by one of my mentors and it has helped me through out my career. Once I read the contents and the preface - I was hooked to learn more. I even purchased the book for my wife to help her strive forward in life. It has awesome excerpts (in red italics) throughout the book from Aesop, Napoleon, Capone, Machiavelli, Musashi, Gracian, Poe, Herodotus - just to name a few. I didn't abide to all 48 laws - I pick and chose wisely and followed my gut instincts. 48 Laws is a good read and I still reference it once a month. Man, was this book an awesome book to stumble across. So much valuable and useful information to apply to my life experiences present and past. I have applied a little of it's strategies and POV's to my workplace. It worked but also backfired in one situation. I am more careful on how I use this knowledge now so I believe by most of it's content. Use with much caution but info is good to know!!!!! I really think you will enjoy this book - I couldn't put it down until I finished it.

The contents in this compilation of "power" is a must have for any one looking to move up in their careers, or just looking to fine-tune the tactics you already pocess. I was very pleased with the condition of the book in first print quality...at reasonable price. I did purchase an additional paper back for my girlfriend who is finishing up her MBA.

I would never use most of these methods against people, but it's nice to become aware of them. I now know when someone is using these against me and I can deal with each situation much more calmly and logically.

the 48 laws of power book. is a book I have read many times before, It is wonderfully written excellent in the way its written. Over the years I wanted a hard cover there were none to be had. When this came up I was excited it was a first edition. The seller was great. I love the book, It was almost in mint condition.

This is an incredible book that anyone who is in a position of Power or wants to be should have. The book is laid out so it's easy to understand and the format lends itself to having the "48 laws" stick in your mind. I highly recommend this book to individuals that can't seem to get where they want to be in life.
