I bought this DVD several weeks ago, but did not sit down to watch it with my 5 1/2-year-old granddaughter until yesterday.

For the past several months, I had been collecting the AG historical dolls to share with her, but as of yesterday, only had introduced her to Kaya and Felicity . . . along with short synopses of life in their times. But neither of us had any idea of what the movie's storyline would cover.

I was amazed by how quickly she got caught up in it, despite the costumes and language accents of the characters. She did not move from her seat for the entire movie (90 minutes) — and except for the discussion of events LEADING UP TO the American Revolution, seemed to understand exactly what was happening. Afterwards, she also was able to retell the events to her dad, when he arrived to take her home.

Since I had not previewed the movie, I was unprepared for the scenes dealing with the sudden death of Felicity's grandfather, or her mother's near-death experience. Although she realized what was happening when the horse-drawn caisson appeared, she did not seem upset . . . but understandably, watching the scenes dealing with her mother's post partum illness seemed a little scary to her. I think (hope) I was able to reassure her that thanks to modern medicine, such events are rare these days . . . but if I were to offer any advice to first-time viewers planning to watch the movie with younger children, it would be either to cover the topic of death to the extent suitable for the child, or be prepared to deal with his/her responses, if necessary.

Aside from that, however I thought it was a great movie and definitely worth watching with a child. Already have Samantha and Molly's DVDs, so it will be interesting to see how she responds to them.

By the way, this DVD was described as "used" when listed, and when it arrived still had a tag on the package indicating it had been a rental. Any qualms I might have had about its potential condition were unfounded. It played perfectly and cost a heck of a lot less than I would have had to pay for a new copy.

I purchased this DVD Felicity the American Girl Adventure for my daughter who is six because she loves horses, and becuase she recently recieved Felicity for her birthday, and since then also recieved the Penny horse too. She loves it, and watches it whenever her brothers are not around to protest. It is a wonderful film with morals, good character and most important it supports our Christian values. There is not much out there that I could compare it to. I plan to purchase the Samantha video by American Girl as well, as we have seen it via the library and love it too....cant wait for Molly to come out at Thanksgiving time! Every little girl should watch these films. They are wholesome, and even we adults love them!

My eight year old daughter really loved this movie about Felicity. It showed what life was like in colonial Williamsburg. It also showed Felicity in all her different outfits that matched the dolls along with the different accessories (retired and current) and of course her best friend, Elizabeth. This may be a bad thing because most kids don't have all of these things but my daughter got a kick out of seeing Felicity in the outfits that she does have. My daughter watched the entire movie with her doll and did not get bored. I definately recommend this for any little girl who loves Felicity.

I purchased this dvd for our daughter. We enjoy watching the American Girl DVDs. Felicity was great. The adventures that Felicity got into just made you want to continue watching to see how it all turned out. The performance was excellant. It is definately a family movie, especially if you have a young girl at home.
We purchased Samantha last year and enjoyed it tremendously. Our hopes were that Felicity would be just as good and it was.

This is a great movie for the whole family. My 9 year old daughter loves the American Girl dolls and books and really wanted this movie. After a couple of weeks worth of chores she earned this dvd. I think she watched it twice the first weekend it came in the mail. Not only is this movie entertaining it also teaches a bit of history.

Felicity was the first American Girl movie our family has watched. Overall, the movie was very good. However, Felicity does sneak out of her house repeatedly for which she goes unpunished. This worried me a bit for a younger viewing audience. She does show very many acts of kindness in this movie that are not typical of a girl her age, and the movie has a redeeming quality. Be prepared to explain to your child what she does right, and what she does wrong. This is a great movie to teach your children that people with different beliefs can respect each other, and even be great friends.

My daughter loves the American girl dolls, books & has just gotten into the movies. We have looked in local stores for this movie, but have not seen it anywhere. My daughter loves the movie, it is well done & very interesting, historically. It has parts of the plot from several of the "Felicity" books. If your daughter has read the books, this will be a great way to make them come alive even more. My daughter loves seeing the costumes & the way that life was different for a girl her age in colonial times.

I purchased Felicity's movie for my 7 year old who is horse crazy. I'm thrilled with the movie and it's content. I can't even express how much she loves it. First movie in years that she's watched over and over again.

Set in Felicity's time period this movie brings to life Felicity from the books. My daughter was amazed to see there were no light switches long ago :) A great family movie!

I see so much time waisted on special effects and killer stunts. If you want that stuff don't watch this movie, but if you want to see people learning to care about people this is IT. This movie will make you want to make a call to your childhood friend or make a new one. It awakens one to the real things in life, not another hour at work for a dollar. It is a movie for children and those ever so much more then 20.
If you don't love Felicity then your heart is broken get a new one. A simple movie with a simple plot. Awsome outcome.

Tea is a sign of a hostess' hospitality. or Tea is Tyranny! Patriot or Loyalist? Can they dwell in the same family? What was the "proper" thing to do? Did one really have "proper" rights as a girl? Could the land of American be more Beautiful? Is it good to run toward something if you are running from somthing else? The days before the American Revolution could be so confusing, but so dangerous. Yet this is a heart warming story about freedome and family. The clothing and characters were amazing!

My daugher read the books then we purchased this movie. Most movies are changed around a lot from the book. The best thing about this movie that my daugher and I enjoyed was the flamilar events taken place and happening were the same in the books.The characters were great and did wonders on openig doors to our imagination with playtime with the American Girl doll Felicity. The movie was clean, not violent, where any age could watch and enjoy. I was glad that with this movie we were owners and not renters to watch it over and over again in the years to come.

This was the first of the American Girl movie we watched. Both my daughter and myself quikcly took to it. Wonderful story line apeals to both children and adults. Costumes are amazing. Many ideal projects and conversations stemmed from watching this film. Great way to introduce a period of history!

I BOUGHT THIS DVD FOR MY 8 YEAR OLD DAUGHTER. SHE LOVES AMERICAN GIRL THINGS. I WISH THEY MADE DVD`S FOR EACH DOLL. THEY ONLY MAKE 3. THIS DVD WAS IN MINT CONDITION.

We have purchased all the American Girl DVD's. They are EXCELLENT! Both myself and my daughter (9) enjoyed them, we watch them over and over and over again. They are interesting - life learning lesson - fun. ATTTTTTTTTTTT

This is a wonderful movie for girls. It is wholesome and there is no objectionable content whatsoever. I enjoyed watching it with my 7 year old daughter.

This is an excellent, wholesome movie for kids and families to watch. Lots of excellent examples of what is right and how to handle different situations that children can learn from. I have enjoyed all of the American Girl movies and would recommend them to anyone who has a young daughter, although I myself enjoy watching these as an adult.

HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for girls between the ages of 6 - 12. This movie is very well done and appropriate for family viewing. The viewer gets a good overview of the book series without deterring from the idea of actually reading the books for more details. This is a great supplement to the American Girl series.

Great family movie with a lot of history. Done right in accordance with the enitre American Girl style. My daughter & her friends loved it!

I bought this for my oldest daughter. She loves this movie and watched it several times. We also have the other two American Girl movies. This one is just great as the rest in the series. We were not disappointed at all. We got it at a great steal on E-Bay.

Felicity is a well made, informative and entertaining movie the whole family can enjoy together. We rented it first and when my family did not want to return it, I knew I should look for a copy to own. It is a classic.

We own several American Girl movies, and my daughters love them all. They are quality productions, and my two girls have enjoyed watching them over and over again. Like the AG books, they bring history to life through the eyes of young ladies in previous eras. I wish every series could be made into a movie.

Awesome movie, loved the story. Wholesome and fun. A great family movie. We love horses. Also very educational about the war.
