Gladiator (DVD, 2005, Extended Edition)

The extended version of Gladiator is a lot better than the theatrical version. It is more thrilling, exciting, intense and graphic. I enjoyed this version. All the new scenes just added more to the story. This movie is Best Picture material (it won the Oscar for Best Picture). Ebert and Roeper should be ashamed of themselves giving a cinematic classic like this two thumbs down. When they do their work they call "reviews", they should asked themselves, "Am I not merciful?" Someone should asked Ebert & Roeper, "Are you not entertained?" People like me who don't like film critics were entertained by this movie. I can't wait to watch The Lord of the Rings: Special Extended Edition Trilogy

'Gladiator' was a remarkably enjoyable and well-done movie.

Reminds one slightly of Kirk Douglas' 'Spartacus', but with (obviously) much better special effects & cinematagraphy.

Very little about this movie could be improved upon. Fight scenes were fun, fairly "authentic", appropriately located in the film, and not too gruesome.

Excellent action film. Must-have for any Roman history buff.

I was pleasantly surprised by this great movie!! My husband wanted to see it and I was like Great. Oddly enough, it was nothing like I expected, it was so much more. With incredible acting, scenery, music, and fight scenes, this is truly a spectacular movie. I would and have recommended this movie to anyone and everyone!! A little bloody and violent for the small children, but there is hardly, if any, profanity or profound nudity to speak of. Excellently done!! An often watched movie in my collection!!

I got a great deal. I love this DVD. One of my favorite movies of all time. There is not one thing I dislike about this item.

This is loaded with Violence, Blood and Guts! A guys kind of movie. The whole movie is very suspensful and keeps you on the edge of your seat. This is a GREAT film.

This movie is wonderful. There are so many things that you can take from Maximus, his loyalty, his courage, and his valor. This movie is wonderful in everyway. I love it!!

One of, if not the, best movies of all time. Hands down. There's not much more to say, if you haven't seen it, see it. If you have, you know what I'm talking about. (Girls excepted. It's kind of a guy movie, but girls should like it too)

I bought the Movie Gladiator because i like it,there is chalange between good and evil . Overall, I'd recommend to buy the movie and keep it you your home.

I already own the standard definition DVD of this film. I chose to get it on blu ray for two reasons. First, the theatrical versionand director's cut are both included, and second I recently bought a blu ray player, and wanted to see this film in Hi Def. It looks great, I can see things I never noticed before, especially in the opening scene. I also love that scenes were edited back into the extended edition.

Very good movie, would asvise if showing to children, that there are scenes of violence and some nudity, but great if you enjoy history. Show what it was like in the Roman arena.

Like movie, good condition. Sent timely manner. Good communication. More than expected...................

The script was very will written excellent crew who did the make-up, costumes, props, weapons and the sets were very well done.

A modern days BEN HUR very well done can not wait till the blu ray comes out.

Gladiator is one of those films you can watch over and over. The charachter of Maximus (the hero) lives by a code..."strength and honor." The villian is awful and hateful and the contrasts are perfect.

The fight sequences are beautifully done and the movie leaves you satisfied, every time!

This movie is one of the best movies I have seen. The action is not too overwhelming, but a good mix of storykine and acting. The special effects are very good. At this time in fact, I'm surprised that this movie is not out on Blue Ray yet, as some movies older than this one. When it does, it will be one well worth getting.
Russel Crowe does an outstanding job as a Roman general and a Gladiator.

I decided to buy this DVD Special Edition because I only had the VHS. If anyone has not seen this movie, they have missed a great film. I compare movies to ones made in the past and this 'gladiator' type of adventure/subject is the best so far. Simply because it is very real without fancy tricks, silliness or ridiculous situations. Very gritty, tragic but also a good story. I enjoyed all of the parts of the actors as I feel they were all perfect for the roles they portrayed. '300' was good but not realistic like this much classier production. Excellent!

One of the absolute greatest movies of all time if not the greatest. I've seen this movie between 50 to 75 times and it still never gets old. It's so good, even my wife loves it.

For a movie that is about 9 years old the special effects are great. Awesome plot, keeps you on the edge of your seat. Real great actors, they can really make you hate them or love them. What I didn't like about the movie is that it is not available on blu-ray disc. I decided to buy this movie because I wanted to own one of the greatest war movies I have ever seen.

This is an excellent DVD about the Roman Empire. Maximus is a general who becomes a nobody because the prince is jealous of him. The plot is all about what happens when the prince becomes jealous of the honourable general, and how he copes with it. GReat entertainment, and great film.

Because i have the original one and i loved it, so i wanted the extended edition. I watched this movie so many times.
