Pocahontas (DVD, 2005, 2-Disc Set)

This has always been my favorite Disney movie of all time. It's one you can watch over and over again. This movie is for kids of all ages.

The songs are wonderful, as well as the characters. It incorporates many themes like love, humor, adventure, and drama. There's something for everyone.

I definitely recommend this movie to anyone.

I never had an interest in watching this movie. It wasn't until I heard "Colors of the Wind" on the Disney Princess Collection CD that I decided to watch it with my three year old. My daughter enjoyed the movie, but I loved it even more. The music is beautiful, and Judy Kuhn's voice is amazing. Mel Gibson also sings a song with Kuhn, "If I Never Knew You" and I thought his voice was pretty amazing too. This movie strays from some of the historical facts/legends of the real Pocahontas, but who cares. Most of us would probably be bored and depressed if the true story of Pocahontas was told in this movie. This is a beautiful love story of two people from two-different worlds who meet under unfortunate circumstances. And the ending isn't predictable like all the other Disney happily-ever-after movies which makes this movie even more heart-felt and intriguing. I also felt Disney did a wonderful job in sending a message to our children about respecting the land that we have been blessed with. Although some see the portrayal of the greedy settlers as racism (which really it was only one governor in the story who was greedy), I saw it as a lesson for us not to take nature and our surroundings for granted.
The animals in the movie were cute and entertaining for the youngsters; but the story itself is for adults and was beautifully told in a Disney kind-of-magical-way.
And for those who are thinking of buying Pocahontas 2: Journey to A New World... I enjoyed Pocahontas 2: Journey to A New World. Although it got a lot of bad reviews, I thought it was worth adding to my Disney collection. You get most of the original characters (minus Mel Gibson as John Smith), and Judy Kuhn again sings beautifully in the movie. I think a lot of people are disappointed with the ending, which historically is the path that Pocahontas does choose....I don't want to spoil it for those who haven't seen it. Needless to say, it doesn't quite measure up to the original Pocahontas but I thought it was interesting to find out what happens to Pocahontas and John Smith. Younger children will absolutely love part 2 because the story involves Meeko and Percy quite a bit, and they are pretty quirky!

Disney has done it again. This is a wonderful film about friendship, love and making the right decisions. As with all Disney films it is one that the kids can watch over and over and not get bored with it. There are a few characters that add some humor to the film as well. As far as the music score, it is excellent! One of the best soundtracks of any of the Disney films. If you are thinking about buying this movie, do it, you will not be disappointed!

I'm a big fan of Disney movies and realized I didn't have Pocahontas on DVD so obviously I had to buy it! The box was a little beat up, but the DVDs themselves were in good condition.

To add to my collection of DVD's for my grandchildren when they visit. It was a good price and arrived quickly.

We got this Dvd real fast but this is a copied disc and does not play on our dvd player. Very disappointed in this product.

this is a great children's movie. I bought it for my nieces and nephews and they love to watch these types of movies. Also an excellent movie to watch with the family.

I decided to buy this for my 4 year old for Christmas because she loves this movie. I was very disappointed in the movie. It was advertised as brand new but when I received it, it was not factory wrapped(in plastic but with no security strip). She opened it Christmas morning and wanted to watch it immediately. We put it in our DVD player and it would not play consistently. It kept starting and stopping. I was very disappointed because my daughter loves this movie. Its hard to rate the actual movie because of the problems with it we couldn't watch it.

The dvd did not work at all i tried it on three different players and it would freeze on the menu. My kids looked forward to watching the DVD for weeks and then when i got it and it did not work i was very upset i have tried to contact the seller several times to no avail and can not resolve it.

I love the movie...i bought it for my daughter....it was just the copy i got was all blurry...it hurt my eyes....but all around I love this movie...

This is a Disney Classic. It's a often forgotten Disney film I feel. It has a great story and wonderful characters.

Just opened the sealed DVD & played it. The DVD has an problem where every 30 seconds the frame & pixels get blurry. Pretty irritating. I know I bought it a month ago but it was a gift & it was just opened. Not to happy about that.

My children wanted this video, it does not play on any of our DVD players. I contacted the seller and was offered another video, I did not receive it or a refund.

Good product, at a good price, however, I did not notice, in the emotion of it all, that the seller was in HONG KONG: I would not have bought it from there had I noticed, but it was too late when I saw that.

That was the only problem..the communication was allright, though not English speakers, they try. They were kind and helpful. They are just too far.

Pocahontas was one of those Disney animations that broke boundaries with its use of watercolor in animated film. So, for the Disney fan, this is a must-have for your DVD collection. What I like most about this DVD set is that the film comes in two different presentations: the original film release and the film with the additional song "If I Never Knew You". The longer version is a must-see as it adds more depth to the Pocahontas/John Smith love story.

This seller sent a BOOTLEG movie. Ok fine, but it would not work in any DVD or my PS3. I opened a claim with PayPal who did nothing in my behalf. I was scammed and both EBAY and PAYPAL seem to accept this type of behavior so I guess it is no longer against any policy to provide false information about sales?? I also guess it is now ok to defraud the movie industry.

It is another example of a great movie by Disney. I mainly bought this for my 3 year old granddaughter and she loves it.
