The 4400 - The Complete Second Season (DVD, 2006, 4-Disc Set)

Okay, so my wife and I stayed up late nights getting "sucked into" the series. The only criticism of the first season was that it was too short, but season two made up for it.

Okay we admit it, we're hooked. Is there a 12 step group for us?

The 4400 is a brilliantly thought up show. The plot twists are extraordinary. I won't say anything more as not to give away anything! Watch Season 1 before this one just to catch up. This is the best season of the 3 that are out on DVD right now!

The season was a little slow to start, New characters and had a different feel then the first season. However, after a few episodes it was non-stop good. I am looking forward to getting the 3rd season once released.

This is my favorite show. It kept me glued to the TV for hours. It makes me think about my own life and about the future. I just had to write a review because I hate it that the ebay description is so wrong! The 4400 are not abducted by aliens! They were abducted by the future and most of them returned with abilities. Anyway, buy the dvd set. You will not regret it.

Was easy to find and is in good condition and she enjoyed watching it and looks forward to getting the next season

Season 2 broden's our characters and jumps the timeline by 6 months. The baby is already born in the first episode...and the whole season seems to focus on what her abilities might be....For us the second season was not nearly as good as the first, the absence of Peter Coyote's character (Ryland) is noticeable almost from the start of this season.

This season has some strong episodes, and seems to suffer from the sophmore curse, because season 3 really starts rockin. Can't wait for season 4 this summer!!!

I bought this as a Christmas present to my husband. We like the series and hope they continue to bring intriguing new storylines. We don't have cable or satellite, so this is our way of seeing it.

The second season just keeps the hits coming! I bought this after purchasing the first season on a whim, and just couldn't get enough of this awesome series! You won't find spoilers here, so I'll keep this brief and to the point: WELL worth buying (and I'm not big on buying any such sets unless they're exceptional.)

The story line is strong, keeps you thinking without interfering with the enjoyment of the plot as it unfolds. Enjoy!

This was a great set of dvd's!The second season was every bit as good if not better than the first season! By the end of the last dvd you will be so hooked that it will be hard to wait for the new season to start!!! Completely addictive!!! This is a must see for any sci-fi lover! I like this series because I started watching it in the Philippines and it is like a puzzle in life that anything can happen. I love how it was written and how it could affect other peoples lives.

I decided to buy it because I want to continue watching where I left off, when I left the Philippines.

This show reminds me of the X-files. Lots of excitement and drama. This is the best way to watch a TV show. No commercials, and you get through it really fast. Now I can catch up on the 3rd season! :O)

I was really into season 1. Season 2 started off really exciting. You start of understand a little of why these people were sent back. They called it the Ripple effect. The first few epsisodes you get to see exactly how a ripple effect works. Well played out. However near the end of the season i started to get really disappointed. The plot was taking a whole new turn, everything was now confusing instead of well laid out. If your already hooked on Season 1 and want to continue to watch season 2 good for it. The first half is really great.

Great premise and the episodes build upon the basic idea very well. The storylines are enthralling and the characters well developed and fun to watch.
Good scripts, good acting and an interesting idea-what more could you ask for?

I just enjoy this show on television so much, I decided to get the complete set. I have season one and wanted season 2.

I liked it a lot, Maia the i believe she is 8 years old girl that can see furture events is just about my fav chara. In this season you get to find out how corrupt people can get when faced with something new, somthing scary...its not exactly wrong but its new and they've never seen it before so they didn't know how to deal with it... Just you have to see it for yourself...

I loved that it was shipped fast to me. I decided to buy the series because science fiction interests me. Even though the dvds were used, I couldn't even tell. They worked like a charm or like they were brand new.

2nd season of The 4400 was great! The story line was well written for this season. Thought the same about the 1st season. That's why I bought the 2nd season.

This is fantastic sci-fi and drama. Each episode builds on the next, leaving you wanting more. If you buy this, it's a sure bet that your next purchase will be: 'The 4400 - The Complete THIRD Season' !!!! Very enjoyable entertainment.

Seriously - I love the premise and I loved the characters. But it was really hard to watch sometimes as I was constantly rolling my eyes at dialogue and bad acting.

In each season, the character Kyle was written as a selfish, naive and rash thinker who loved his family one minute and over dramatically was hating them the next. Flaky at best. The actor who played him wasn't that great anyway - his best traits are to look dumfounded, lost or nostril-flaring angry.

Then there were the two main characters, Diana and Tom, who, thanks to the writers, failed to put things together as if they were faced with the 4400 for the first time in each episode. They were always suprised when they learned that the weird scene they would stumble upon at the beginning of each episode had anything to do with the 4400. Over the top skepticism - which really made them bad dectectives. Diana's character spent most of her time thoughtfully looking at nothing as she over contemplated a simple idea or being mad and scared, neither of which she successfully portrayed. You can tell she's acting - and that's the worst kind of acting there is. Tom's character had a little more depth to it - his confusion and anger seemed justified.

Bad acting or not - the writers were the first to be at fault here. They cut corners and created dialogue to segue into something they want to happen or be discovered, but they never really made sense. The main threads in the story left some holes too.

Biggest problem? The people who took Promicin were all being put in jail if they were discovered. However - this is supposed to be modern day right? Tell me how those who took Promicin BEFORE it was declared illegal should be held liable by the law for their decision? ON WHAT PLANET? If I take Tylenol this week and next week it's considered illegal they couldn't put me in jail! U.S. law punishes people for things they do wrong - and taking Promicin wasn't wrong at first, it was frowned upon. After it became illegal, throw them in jail all you want. But this just didn't hold water and it was irritating to see this as the driving force behind many decisions.

Unfortunately, after watching Season 3 and 4 I saw that it had been cancelled and it doesn't look like Sci-Fi is picking it up yet. I wish they would - with all the problems, I still wanted to know what happened so I watched.

As a side note: We could do without another character who has a Messiah complex. That was a weird and unnecessary plot turn - if he really saw the future as he did, the Messiah thing wasn't necessary. It was simply the writers' indulging themselves.

Being an X Files fan, I was told that this is a must watch series. Well I have watch season one and season two, and I'm hooked like a junkie. I can't wait until I get season three. If you are an X Files fan like me, you will like this series. Very well acted. Get Hooked!
