I really enjoyed this book. I thought it moved quickly and you didn't necessarily know what exactly happened the night Katie disappeared until the very end. As a parent I found this book heartbreaking but very well written and Mr. Martin did a great job. It shows that you don't really know what people do behind closed doors.

This book was quick and easy to read, but that's not to say it was a "simple" book. It provoked much discussion within our book club. The reading guide (in a later edition) was especially helpful. It's interesting to see how the lives of many people from diverse backgrounds converged one summer as the result of a little girl's disappearance.
