The 4-hour Work Week by Timothy Ferriss (2007, Unabridged, Audio Cassette)

I highly recommend this book. I got it on CD because reading puts me to sleep. I didn't expect to become wealthy or actually work only 4 hours a week, but it gave me many great ideas that I have been using. It's amazing how much work we do that has no added value. We create a lot of busy work for ourselves. If you get anything out of this it's freeing up time so you have more time for yourself and getting ahead in life.

I'd listened to the audiobook, and the information in this book is so dense, I felt like I needed to read it as well as listen to it. Every chapter is full of new ideas, and I've read a lot (A LOT) of business books. This book opened my mind to new possibilities, and made me look at business (and my business) differently.

The author presents some ideas that run counter to the conventional wisdom, but that is the beauty of this book. The ideas may not be (are not) for everyone, but if you're ready to become a "lifestyle" millionaire, and take back your life, this should be on your short list of books to read.

I particularly liked the information about designing your business for remote and/or hands-off operation from the start. Too many entrepreneurs find that their business owns them. Timothy Ferriss has already been down that road, and tells us how to avoid that trap from the beginning.

More than just ideas or concepts, this book is full of practical things you can do right now, and links to many of the sources that Timothy Ferriss has already checked out and uses himself.

I'd highly recommend this book to anyone interested in owning, rather than being owned by a business. It is also a great book for anyone who is ready to think differently about their life and their business. I only wish I had read it 10 years ago.
