When I saw the Blues Brothers (Dan Akyroyd & Jim Belushi) at The Soaring Eagle Casino in Mt.Pleasant, MI in August of 2006 I was blown away by Jim Belushi's showmanship and voice. He jumped into and sang and danced with members of the audience, pulled audience members onto the stage, danced with them and basically did his damndest to entertain the crowd. He was sucessful and immediately won me over as a fan.
It was because of this performance that when I got home, I immediately checked ebay for any Jim Belushi music and I came across this album. I bid on it immediately and am now the proud owner of it.
I'm very glad I got it. It's what you'd call a 'Party Record.' You'd put this disc in if you had a bunch of fun-lovin' people over who wanted to hear some great music.
Among the songs here is a great re-make of Willie Dixon's '29 Ways' as well at the title track (which he had also performed the night I saw him with the Blues Brothers). He also performed 'Leap of Faith' another upbeat tune which is included here as well. He channels the great Louis Jordan with 'The Chicken And The Hawk.' Belushi also does justice to the other Willie Dixon cover in this collection: "I Just Want To Make Love To You." This album is definately worth purchasing and I guarantee that it will get repeated listenings.
