Stargate SG-1 - Season 2 Giftset (DVD, 2002)

Even though I wrote 2 episodes of this second season of Stargate, I would recommend this box set anyway. The series started as little more than an extension of the movie, but by the second season the characters and battles took off with a life of their own. Richard Dean Anderson was great to work with and the quality that he brought to the series started to really emerge in season 2. Enjoy what is now a sci-fi classic!

This well packaged boxed set of DVD's arrived very quickly and in excellent condition. After watching several of the episodes, I can recomend them to anyone. The characters are very entertaining, sometimes serious and suspenseful and sometimes very humerous. This would be a good action-fantasy series for the whole family.

Here's the deal. If you are looking at the second box set in the Stargate SG1 series then you probably have the first one and thus you don't need me to tell you how good it is. So quit reading reviews and buy it already. Damn, what are you trying to do? Justify your purchase? Chill out, you know what a great series it is already. So quit crying.
Though if you don't have the first set and are interested in a fun Sci-Fi adventure then I'd recommend buying the first set then of course coming back to buy the second set.

Stargate SG1 season 2 picks up with the conclusion of the epic season one finale and takes off from there. The Stargate series follows the adventure of the SG1 teams four members going through the stargate to other worlds light years away. Richard Dean Anderson, Michael Shanks, Amanda Tapping, and Christopher Judge all make their characters to life and make them unforgettable. If you like Star Trek, Battle Star Galactica, or just Sci-Fi in general then this series is a must. Though I warn you, you'll be watching for a while as of August 2006 Stargate SG1 has started it's 10th season.

My husband loves Star Gate and anything like it. I just started buying him the series. So far he has four years and loves to watch them all. He likes them so much I plan to buy the other three years for his birthday.

I havent watch the full season of Stargate. Personally, I dont care for it, but my stepfater loves the show. He watches it everyday even reruns of the show. So I will take his word for it, and I recommend this to people that like sci-fi shows.

I really enjoy this show. The first season started out a little slow. Season 2 is really starting to pick up the pace. This show is good for the whole family. The only episode that may have been inappropriate for young children is the pilot episode in Season one where full frontal nudity is shown, other than that is has been a pretty clean show to watch. I recommend it.

Its not the best of sg 1 but if you want them all youll need season 2.
You could buy this season last and not miss anyhting.

My hubby is into Startrek TOS, Startrek TNG, Startrek Voyager, Stargate, Star Wars (See a pattern?) Eureka (Whoa- finally something without the word "Star")& a few other sci-fi's. I got this for his birthday- I'm tring to finish the collection he started. He was thrilled! His privious wife would get him silly watches & stuff he really wasn't interested in- which I will eventually get around to putting up on- eBay! (go figure!:) It was great to see him so happy! It was a true "Gift Set" Thanks!

This show is a family favorite. We purchased the season 2 DVD box set because the early episodes don't appear on tv often.

I actually have not watched it because it was a birthday present for my husband, but he seems very pleased. Thanks again.

I REALLY GOT HOOKED ON THE SHOW. IT IS ONE OF THE BEST SCI-FI EVER MADE.SADDLY IT WILL END AFTER 10YEARS ON THE AIR.

i bought it for my boyfriend he likes the show he is tring to collect the seasons of all of stargate sg 1. i never seen the show. but my boyfriend loves it.

I am a avid Stargate fan, so I decided to start collecting seasons. The BID start price was great, so was the selling price for new merchandise.

Stargate SG-1 - Season 2 Giftset (2002, DVD)is a great purchase. It's a muss to have if you are SG1 fan, or it can be a great gift.
Season 2 is a very well done set of DVDs.

This is a wonderful series. The Stargate SG-1 story-line and characters are very interesting. You can't help but want to watch all the episodes. I bought this for my son for Christmas. He had already recieved the giftset for SEASON 1 and was really wanting Season 2. This was a great buy. The whole family has enjoyed it. If you like Sci-Fi, this is one of the best storylines I have ever watched. Excellent writers. Excellent characters. No foul language or nudity makes this rely on high quality writing. Its not another soap-opera. It keeps your attention.

We watch them all the time on TV and wanted all on video. It nice to
see them one after another rather then how they jump back and forth
on TV. The only thing that I don't like is I can't get them on VHS.
The sound is not real clear, But we still will watch them from months
on.

I bought stargate sg-1 season 2 because I have always watched sg-1 and I love the series and I want all the seasons and I will eventually get them all but the show is great and so is this giftset if you love stargate get this season too.

The second season of stargate continues with a few new twists and turns - it's great for any real true sci-fi fan - brings you and holds you - makes u feel part of the show and intrugies you - i can't really say anything bad about this - it's new and fresh and even though they have a few eposides that strive to stay away from other shows - it's really not all that bad they turn it around - :)

To start with I guess you'd say I wasn't a follower of the Stargate series, however, once I really got into watching a few of the shows I got hooked. It's not so much the type of story line, it's more towards the dry wit and humor in each episode. The dead pan expression of characters as they deliver their stingers to Jack's total loss at anything technical. The interaction of all involved works with very little effort and they actually look like they're having fun at it too. I missed several episodes and wanted to watch them all in order and without commercials. For just a fleeting moment you can actually lose yourself in the Stargate and relax and collect yourself for another day in reality, it is a refreshing way to ease off the tension of the day. So, go ahead and laugh or just shake your head at the blank expression Jack has as Carter talks to him about Astrophysics, or Daniel about ancient civilizations, you won't be disappointed.
