Tombstone

Definitely one of the BEST Westerns made recently and arguably-possibly
one of the all time greats, and with a boatload of stars! In this
fictionalized drama based on real life characters, legendary marshall
Wyatt Earp played by Kurt Russell (Soldier, Escape to L.A., Executive
Decision, Breakdown, etc), now a weary gunfighter, joins his brothers
Morgan (Bill Paxton-Twister, U-571, Frailty, A Bright Shining Lie, etc)
and Virgil (Sam Elliott-The Sacketts, We Were Soldiers, Road House,
Gettysburg, etc) to pursue their collective fortune in the thriving
mining town of Tombstone. But Earp is forced to don a badge again and
get help from his notorious pal Doc Holliday played by Val Kilmer (The
Ghost and the Darkness, The Saint, Heat, Felon, etc) when a gang of
outlaws called the Cowboys try to take over the town. Kilmer really
gives the performance of his career and plays the tuberculosis filled
Holiday complete with his Georgia drawl and the pale sweat that comes
with the disease. His own words, whether he is in depressing lament or
the smooth tenacity that he uses when about to kill someone-the scenes
that comes with them are worth the price of the movie alone, definitely
an Oscar winning performance (but did not win). The director of the
movie has only had four big screen tries--but all have been supported
by the public very well at the box office (Rambo First Blood Part II,
Cobra, Leviathan, etc). Definitely a GREAT movie to watch and enjoy,
whether you like Westerns or not- chances are you will enjoy this one
a great deal. Also, it should appeal to action and adventure lovers.
Worth every cent of the retail price- and definitely a keeper if you
are a collector of dvds, a bargain to get it at a reduced Ebay price.
