Great 70's Hard Rock Collection
Review created: 06/09/08(updated 06/12/08)
As far as Rock anthologies go, this one is hard to beat.
It's full of bonafide 70's Rock classics from Grand Funk, Black Sabbath, Uriah Heep, Mountain, Santana, Alice Cooper, Edgar Winter, Focus, Mott The Hoople, and the everlovin' Brownsville Station .
The only misstep here in my opinion is Blinded By The Light, which doesn't fit in with rest of these songs at all. It's lightweight and cheesy in a variety of ways. What the hay were they thinking?
Alright, I have to admit MIDNIGHT RIDER doesn't quite flow with the predominant hard rockin' style here either; but it IS a great song, so we can overlook that.
Take it all around, the CD is almost perfect.
Crank it up and watch the plaster fall off the walls, while the rats and cockroaches run for cover in the face of unbridled 70's Hard Rock energy!
Even if they survive, the little weasels will be never be the same... heh, heh.
Worth every penny.
