One of the most underrated albums of our time--

This album is fabulous on so many levels. It is a portrait of the black experience in America, and it expresses the views of the philosophical African-American college student during the late 80s, early 90s. It is revolutionary without trying too hard, and definitely eloquent. There are countless references to rap, gospel, folk, country, rock, and pop here, and the lyrics are sheer poetry. "Tennessee" chronicles lead singer Speech's dream (or revelation)about his history, "Mr. Wendel" is a portrait of a homeless man in America, "Mama's Always on Stage" highlights respect for the young black single mom. The collective group didn't do much after this (word has it that the large ensemble couldn't stay afloat, as there were too many people to take a cut of the money). However, it is the reason for their downfall that the group was so great. The collective group sounds like a family and includes voices and instruments from all over the musical spectrum. Although some might perceive the lyrics as preachy at times, I don't. It's honest with the sort of heart-on-sleeve lyrics that give you an A-Ha! experience. Essential for those born during or after 1969, because it's a slice of life of our generation.

Very interesting, make you think lyrics. Very earthy, urban, social themes. Most of the music is danceable.

  Thank You So Much

Im actually not a big fan of arrested development. But my girlfriend when she was younger did extra chores around the house and with her neighbors to save up and buy it. And when she finally purchased it, before she could even open it her house caught on fire. While she was at school. So I brought it for her as a birthday gift, because I thought it would be a nice gesture. And she loved it. She cried and kept hugging me and telling me thank you all day. So I say to you thank you!!!

3 Years, 5 Months, And 2 Days In The Life Of - Arrested
Review created: 03/07/07

Little dificult write in inglish but i try to make well.
From first to last track this disc add fresh and cool music to a repetitive rap and hip hop scene, inteligent lyrics.
Only a little detail, the song Everyday People i think that is a cover o remake form the song of same name from Sly and the Family Stone, but the credits say nothing...
Out of these detail i wide recommend this disc.
Regards to all

I love listening to the old school R&B songs. Arrested Development was one of my favorite groups back in the day. I was so pleased to find this particular CD. The quality of the product was great. I also received it in a timely manner. Everything went well.
