This book is an excellent reference guide to dinosaur collectibles. It is organized into the following sections: 1) The History of Dinosaur Figures, 2) Plastic and Vinyl Figures, 3) Special Focus: Marx Plastic Figures and Prehistoric Playsets, 4) Metal Figures, 5) Ceramic and Resin Figures, 6) Model Kits, 7) More Dinosaur Toys and Games, 8) Special Focus: Tyco Dino-Riders, 9) Movie Dinosaurs, 10) Special Focus: Jurassic Park and Jurassic Park: The Lost World, 11) TV Dinosaurs, 12) Dinosaurs at Home, 13) Special Focus: Sinclair Dinosaur Collectibles, 14) Paper Dinosaurs, 15) Dinosaur Directory. The entire book is full of color photos of the items it describes. The History and Special Focus sections contain a lot of information about the history of certain collectibles that are especially interesting to collectors. All the other sections are arranged into sets or series that contain lists of the names of each collectible in the set and a price that approximates the value. This book is an absolute must have for anyone who collects dinosaurs. I have learned so much by reading it and I am always looking up things in it (so now my copy is about ready to fall apart). Just remember that it was published in 1999 so the prices are not necessarily accurate anymore. But you can still get an idea of the rarity of an item by looking at its price relative to the prices of other items in the set.
