24-Karat Kids Review
I usually read chick lit books about single, silly girls who land the boy in the end, or girls who are having relationship problems but always have a happy romantic ending, and this was different in that the main character (Shelly) is an established professional who has worked hard to get where she is and who is definitely not like moi from Bergdorf Blondes or Becky from the Shopaholic series. Shelly joins a prestigious pediatric clinic and the book witnesses her transformation and the changes it creates in her relationships. It's similar to the Devil Wears Prada because of the 180-degree aboutface of the main characters in each, but unlike Prada, it was too predictable and I found I didn't enjoy it that much. It was nice fluff reading but not something I'll keep on my bookshelf to read again. The ending also seemed incomplete.
