24 - Season 5 (DVD, 2009, 7-Disc Set)

Most of you already know how much you like "24." I won't try to impose my opinion on you.

But you might not know exactly what extras the set includes. Fox usually does a great job with its 24 season DVD sets, and this one is no exception: it is well-packed with extras that most fans will enjoy.

This is the best season yet! Following the events of season 4, Jack is living under a false name to protect himself from the Chinese Goverment. But, Jack must come out of hiding at the beginning of the season, when three of his friends die, and Jack is the one being framed, and Terrorists take over a Airport terminal. It soon becomes clear that the hostage situation is part of a bigger plan, A MUCH BIGGER PLAN. In the airport, it becomes clear that there is Nerve Gas, and the Terrorists get their hands on it and plan to release it on the country! What will the next 24 hours hold?

If you like to live on the edge, or feel as though you do, watch 24! This series will have you white-knuckled and on the edge of your seat waiting to see what happens next!
The concept behind 24 is different from anything else on television, it is played out in real time. Each minute you are watching represents one minute in the show, no elapsed hours or days. The writers and producers have found a way to turn each moment into a epic climax that will leave you breathless! Each show represents one hour in the life of CTU (Counter Terrorism Unit) agent Jack Bauer, and each season is comprised of 24 episodes representing one day in Jack's life, hence the title, 24.
Season Five does what viewers and fans of the series thought impossible; it keeps getting better! In today's hostile terroristic climate, Jack is exactly the kind of hero we need to believe in. If you are new to 24, you must get all five seasons on DVD and watch them in order to fully appreciate the character development and intricate plots as they unfold. Waiting from one week to the next to see what happens is ludicrous! Watch it on DVD and the thrills and action are literally non-stop.
Recommended for all genders. This is not your typical 'guy movie' with nothing but street crashes and things being blown up all over the place (although there is plenty of that!), 24 is takes the time to carefully develop characters, relationships, conflicts, even aspirations all the while battling the 'bad guys'. The totally unpredictable and always exciting nature of 24 set in a totally believable and current background of worldwide terrorist behavior makes it what I belileve to be this century's finest entertainment, as well as our finest hero epic!

Definitely the most exciting season so far - after a rather disappointing 4th season with a new threat every 3 episodes. Season 5 is the only one that manages to keep the suspense and the excitement with a single threat.
The Emmy is well deserved, and the fact that it comes during the fifth year only proves the originality and imagination of the show. 24 is a UFO in American TV, but it is also hands down the most addicting, most enthralling show ever (sorry for Lost, but come on, there can be more twists and suspense in one episode of 24 than in an entire season of Lost).

I have been watching 24 since the first season, and I can say that season 5 is without a doubt the one with the most excitement.

I especailly like this one becuase it keeps you guessing every step of the way, and it seems as if after every episode, for this season especially, there are so many things going through your head about what the next episode will bring. That is what makes this show so good, the fact that it is almost impossible to anticipate what will happen next.

Season 5 of the show 24 was somthing that I looked forward to through the week and when Monday night came around, I was ready for another great action packed episode. So in all, I suggest that you buy the Season 5 DVD of 24. It includes all of the great episodes, and even a sneak preview of whats to come on season 6 which I really cant wait for.

This is something you truly want to watch. It's something you'll remember in the future, and will want to watch it again. The directors obviously knew how to get the viewers to like it!

If you have scene Seasons 1-4 there is no reason to miss Season 5.
It still has so many thrills to keep you on the edge of your seat.
Keifer Sutherland once again shows his spectacular acting talents.
It is not the best of all the seasons but I'm glad I saw it.
It is a thrill a minute. Keep that popcorn flowing.

I watch this week in week out. Whats not to love, great writting, great acting! The box set it great as you dont have to wait.

This season took the momentum of this show and brought it even further as a suspense-filled, edge of your seat action series. It is one of the best seasons yet, and it promises to get better with the coming season!

Are you kidding me? What is there NOT to like about "24"? There is action, suspense, more action, more suspense. I like the "24" format. There isn't anything like it on tv and there never will. I like "24" to "The Matrix" and the new "Transformers" movie. There will never be anything like it on tv or in the movies. Great price. The stores are selling "24" for $50 or more. I got it at a bargain on eBay for 1/2 that. Now that is bargain shopping if I ever knew it. Since all the "Start Trek" shows have gone off the air and are in sindication, I wanted something new and refreshing and "24" did more than fill the void of my tv life, but over-flowed it.

I love the Netfliks & Blockbuster Rental services so I've seen my fair
share of movies out there and it's not something I'm fond of admitting, but I've never caught a single episode of Joel Surnow and Robert Cochran's 24 on TV. Not one. In fact, if it weren't for the constant "Fox News" plugs during every other episode, I probably wouldn't even know what channel it aired on. Thanks to the convenience of DVD, I was converted to a fan of the nail-biting series a few short years ago, and I haven't looked back since. 24 is simply one of the most addicting shows you'll find on network TV (or digital cable, for that matter), combining an irresistible real-time premise with layered characters, emotional drama, potent action sequences and never-ending cliffhangers. Simply put, every episode feels like a season finale. Having first been intrigued with 24 after reading the kinetic Season 1 DVD it didn't take long for yours truly to make a purchase. It did, however, take a few months for me to eventually watch it; having been forewarned of the show's addicting formula, I planned to delay the marathon until my schedule cleared up a bit. After an unexpected week-long break arose during the holiday season, I devoured the first boxed set in roughly five days. Since then, I've looked forward to the annual 24 DVD block each and every year---and though I could easily catch it on TV, something tells me I couldn't handle the constant wait every week. Season 5 works so well because the threats are more formidable and varied than ever, even though a few are slightly borrowed from earlier seasons. This time around, terrorists have acquired a collection of Sentox nerve gas, though how they were acquired remains a mystery for some time. Strategically placed in and around the Los Angeles area, these canisters of gas pose a threat to CTU and the general public many different times throughout the day. The returning President Charles Logan (Gregory Itzen) proves to be an interesting leader in his own right, appearing cowardly, sympathetic, vengeful, optimistic and unpredictable as the tragic events unfold.

I think this series has all the attributes to make it desirable for the purchaser. It has suspense, intrigue, love and without exaggeration, violence. For me, it's a great series and I hope to little by little get all the seasons.

OK friends, 24 hours is a really good series but some times im feel a little be bouring, Why? well every time Jack is the Hero and no body is a good person every body is a traitor or terrorist and nobody can help to other people...

By the way the fifth season is pretty short compare than the last ones.

I am so pleased with the 5th season. The screen is much brighter throughout the episodes compared to the 4th season. Lots of constant action keeps you on your toes. Though, these people need to eat a bite of food every once in a while! Let's try to keep what we can real! Overall...Loved it! It was hard to turn off and wait until I had time to watch the following episodes! I bought this item on ebay because I couldn't beat the price! I had been waiting for it to show up in stores, but this was much easier!

I bought this DVD just before Season 6 started airing on FOX. This is the best season of 24 yet! The extras are great on the Season 5 DVD! Love it!

My husband and I really like this show because it is exciting? It is fun to see things unfold and figure out how things will get resolved. We bought it because we have the other four seasons and we want to have all of them and we had not seen any of season 5. It is a great show!!

I'm surprised that I didn't get into this show a lot sooner than I did. The fast-pace action and suspense really caught my attention and kept it there from the first hour to the finale.

I bought this after renting the first disk from Hollywood video. The best decision for anyone into this type of action show. Great job Fox!
