This book is the first in the Rabbi Small series.
This is the first book in the Harry Kemelman series about the sleuth detective Rabbi David Small. For some reason I ended up purchasing this book last but I would recommend you purchase it first. This book sets the stage for the reader to get to know the characters that are a part of the series and also to begin a journey on understanding basic Judaism. The writing is sophormoric and easily comprehendable. However, Harry Kemelman's writing matures as the books develop in the series.
If you like mystery without your senses assaulted by guts and gore, you will like this book.
Think, "Murder She Wrote."
